First Day Chapter One

My mom walked into my room while I walked out of my bathroom
"oh I see you're already awake Leah " she said smiling and I nodded" couldn't sleep any longer " I said as I walked to my bed to get the outfit I had ready for the day
" someone's excited for the first day in college" she said and came to give me a squeeze on the shoulder. "weren't you excited for the first day in college?" I asked as I turned to look at her. " of course I was, I'm gonna let you get ready when you're done come downstairs to get your breakfast" she told me and walked out of the room. I had picked up a simple outfit for today witch consisted of black skinny jeans and a white crop top with a denim jacket and my vans. Once I got dressed I proceeded to straight my hair. When I was done I got downstairs where my mom had a plate with pancakes for me. "good morning" I greeted my dad and my older brother who were sitting at the table eating breakfast. "you ready kiddo?" my brother asked as he took a bite out of his pancake "more ready than I will ever be" I said smiling and I started eating.

When we were done with breakfast I went upstairs to get my bags. I took one last look of my room before I closes the door. I was gonna miss it. Not only my room, everything. My family my friends the town that I was bored and raised. But I was happy to make a new start, the begging of the adult life as my mother said. I got downstairs and gave dad my luggage. "Brett are you coming with us?" I asked my brother who was looking at his phone " No sorry kiddo, I have to go to Jessica to help her with some of her work at the store" I gave him a sad look and went over to give him a hug "look at the bright side I woke up early to say goodbye" I chuckled and gave him a playful punch at his shoulder. "time to get going Leah" my dad yelled from the door. I said my last goodbye to my brother and got outside where my parents were. "Everything packed and ready to go" my dad said with a smile and proceeded to get in the car "you got everything, right Leah?" my mom asked making sure I won't forget anything "yeah I got everything don't worry"
"alright get in let's get going " she told me and ushered me to the car. I got in and we started our trip

After about two hours we were finally there. The place was packed from students and parents. Other saying their goodbyes and other going with their kids. We got outside the car and my dad went to grab my bags "Leah why don't you go find your dorm while me and your dad are getting your stuff?" "okay I'll meet you inside then " she nodded and I made my way towards the building. It was really big inside and flooded with people since it was the first day. I got out the paper with the number of my dorm I had in my bag just to be sure,it read "250". I started wondering around the halls until found the right wing "248" "249" "250" BINGO! I got inside and found a girl with long hair unpacking her stuff
"hey" I said and walked in she turned around to greet me. "ohh hey you must be the roommate I'm Sierra nice to meet you" she said and stuck out her hand for a handshake. " I'm Leah nice to meet you too" when we were done with the handshake my parents walked in with my stuff. They greeted Sierra an put my stuff at my bed. "It's time for the goodbye don't you think?" I asked as I turned towards my parents. They both nodded and gave me a hug. "Call whenever you need okay honey?" "yes mom we talked about it" "I know, I know... I'm gonna miss you "" I'm gonna miss you too but you have to go now " I told her with a light chuckle as she gave me one last hug. I told goodbye to my dad and they left. " Sorry about that they get a little emotional sometimes " I said as I turned towards Sierra." don't worry about it my mom was just like that she spend half an hour before living " I chuckled an look at her" parents what can we do "" exactly " she said with a smile and continued with her unpacking while I started doing mine."
" so do you have any friends here? " she asked and look at me" no, not really my friends went to different colleges, you? " " hmm bummer. Well my boyfriend is here with his friends so I have someone. But you are more than welcome to come meet them I'm pretty sure they will like you" "thank you that means a lot I'm quite difficult at making friends to be honest" I told her and looked down "of course don't worry about, so tell me a few things about you"

After sharing some interesting fact and getting to know each other we got both hungry and decided to go get something to eat. As we were making our way towards the exit of the building someone grabbed Sierra making her squeal. "Luke!!!! What have I told you about doing that in public, you're scaring me" she told him with a pout while he put her down "I'm sorry baby" he told her and bent down to kiss her. "Alright, let me introduce, Leah this is Luke my boyfriend, Luke this is Leah my dorm roommate" she told while gesturing to each other. "hey nice to meet you" he told me and gave me a small wave witch I returned "nice to meet you too" "me and Leah we were going to get some lunch do you want to come with us" "sure I'm always down food you know it" we laughed and the three of us made our way outside
