Chapter 26: Propose

"So", I played.

"Do you want me to help you with it?", he turned me to face him.

"As?", I smirked.

"As your daddy, babygirl", he leaned in to kiss me, his hands still on my waist.

Suddenly, someone cleared his throat and I turned my head to see fucking Jungkook smirking near the gate.

He walked to us, "I know you are desperate for it but I'm borrowing hyun from you", he said placing his hand on Jimin's shoulder.

"Now, you'll know how I felt whenever you disturbed us", he started to walk away with Jimin and I looked at him in shock, anger started to boil in me.

"Aghh... Jungkook!!", I shouted banging my fist on the kitchen slab.

"Owww..", I started to jump with the pain which I caused to myself.

"Hurry", Jungkook shouted again.

I sighed and took the tray of drinks in my hand headed towards the hall.

Author's POV

Eunjoo brought the drink and everyone started to enjoy them.

The bell rang and Phoenix opened the gate.

"Hey! Happy Birthday!!", Eric shouted hugging Phoenix.

"Happy Birthday, Phoenix!", Katniss said who was standing behind Eric.

Though Jungkook and the others didn't liked their presence but for Phoenix's sake they tried to put on a smile as this day was too precious to be ruined.

"Let's cut the cake as everyone's here", Eunjoo announced and with it came a small but cute little tasty cake.

Phoenix blew the candles and thanked the god for giving her a true love and wished that they will be together all her life but she didn't knew that what was going to happen.

Did the God heard her wishes? Was he planning to give her what she wanted or he was going to play a trick as he always did whenever she was happy?

She made Jungkook eat the very first piece of the cake with her own hands and the second to Eunjoo who was equally important to her.

It was because of both of them that she was able to manage her life so well until now.

Everyone was shouting well wishes for her but someone's evil desire was too loud for him to hear and complete them.

Everyone was smiling to their fullest but someone's evil grin was too big to hide them behind itself.

Jungkook's POV

I love Phoenix like anything. She is my breath, my hearth beat, my everything.

Seeing her happy makes me feel like the happiest person in the whole world.

I take an oath to protect her smile until my heart stops beating.

Suddenly, Eric bent on his knees in front of Katniss, " I know we have been dating for few months only but I'm so in love with you that I want to ask you this", he pulled out a velvet box from his pocket.

"Will you be my partner for ever and after?", he asked her.

Everyone was looking at them.

Phoenix cultched my arms tightly and I looked at her face which made sure that she was expecting a yes from Katniss and this was seen on the faces of everyone, even on the face of Suga hyun who rarely showed emotions.

"Yes!!", Katniss shouted as we all have been expecting and the room got filled with "awww...s" and cheerings and Eric placed a promise ring in her finger which were pale white.

Phoenix looked at me and gave me a quick peck.

If this would have been a normal situation I would have enjoyed even the touch of her small fingers but something distracted me, something didn't felt right.

I was roaming in the house as something made me too impatient to sit at one place.

I kept on checking if Phoenix was fine who was accompanied by the girls, who were getting ready our dinner on the table.

"Everything is going fine", I heard someone's voice coming from the room across the hall.

I made my way towards the voice secretly to listen to the conversation.

"I'm at Phoenix's house", it was Eric.

"She is too innocent to catch my lie.", his words made my blood boil.

Was all that a lie that he told to my girl? I clenched my fist but I wasn't sure about whom he was talking about so I listened in silence to find it.

"All I said to her was lie and she believed it. Who else other then Phoenix", he said and I couldn't hold it anymore and I punched him hard on his face.
