Macy's POV
..........................
"I'm so stupid," I sighed, 'I'll get someone to bring another table to yours for your guests."
"Good," the old man grunted and hobbled away back to his seat.
Someone seemed to always be complaining here. The worst complaints was over reservations. There seemed to be the most when I was the hostess at the front of the restaurant.
"Raul?" I turned around to Raul who was sweeping the floor. He looked up suprised.
"Yes?" He stood up straight.
"Could you bring a table to that old mans table over there? Like, right now?"
Raul sighed, "No problem Mac."
"Thanks Raul," I watched him go fetch a table and carry it to the table.
I took out some menus for a reservation at 8 o'clock. They had a table of ten, so they must have made this reservation a lot in advance. Heismanns Steakhouse was very famous here in NYC and the only way you could taste our delicious steaks was by a phone call weeks in advance.
This party must have called months in advance for there reservation. I went and made sure there table was set and ready and scooped out the room making sure all customers where happy.
"Done," Raul came up to me and sucked in a deep breath.
"Thanks Raul."
"Macy?"
"Yup," I looked up from the computer that I was filling in a new reservation on.
"Can I ask you a question?" Raul looked at the ground and then to my feet.
I nodded and continued to fill in the reservation. I knew already what Raul was going to ask. He asked me it practically every week. 'Are you free this weekend?'
"Um, are you free this weekend? To like maybe catch lunch or dinner?"
I sighed, "Raul, I'm sorry but no I'm not. I don't want to hurt you Raul and I-"
"Macy I get it. I'll stop asking. Sorry."
I watched Raul walk away glumly. I felt really bad for him, but honestly I wasn't really looking to date anyone right now. I thought Raul was a really nice guy, and he was my first friend when I started working at Heissmans. My stomach felt like a pit because I just ruined our friendship. I was so deep in thought I hardly noticed a man in dark sunglasses walk into the resturant.
"Hello! Welcome to Heissmans Steakhouse," I smiled, "Party of ten?"
"Yes," the man grunted, "They're outside. Do you have a back exit they can enter through?"
"Um, yes. Follow me."
I walked briskly to the back of the restaurant. The man followed closely behind me. His sunglasses were still on him even though the restaurant was dimly lite. It made the hairs on my arm stand up, but I knew he was probably with a celebrity. I had seen many here before. Even including Selena Gomez on one ocassion, which was pretty awesome.
"Are they already back here?" I asked as we approached the door.
"They should be," the guy said bluntly.
I took out my key and unlocked the door. The man pushed it open and I stood there while he went outside to a black van. He knocked on the door of the van and it popped open revealing 4 men who all jumped out one at a time. All of them had on tight black pants that hugged their legs. They stood by the man who got them while 2 woman excited the van and then one of the boys helped another woman out. He and her interlocked hands and started walking towards me. 2 more men got out of the van and now everyone was walking up towards me.
"Thank you," The boy who was holding the girls hand said to me as they walked through the door.
"You're welcome."
I had no idea on who these people were, but they all had an accent of some sort. I think it was either Australian or English. Once everyone had entered, I locked the door behind them. When I turned around I realized that they were all there staring at me.
"Oh my gosh. Let me take you to your table," My face flushed and one of the guys who had on a large hat and curly hair to his shoulders grinned.
I moved through them and gestured them to follow me to their seat. My whole face was red and embarrassed. Even though I had no idea who they were, they were probably famous and I was a hostess at a restaurant who just embarrassed herself.
"Here is your table," I forced a smile and examined all of them as they sat down.
There were 4 boys who dressed very similar all in dark tight pants. One had blonde brown hair and a t-shirt on. He was definetly a celebrity. Who wears a t-shirt in Heissmans? One had brown hair that looked as if he had just rolled out of bed and a grey hoodie on. Celebrity. The one who came in with the girl and now was sitting by her wore a plaid shirt.
She was dressed much better than him in black leather jeans and a cute blouse with heels. The one who had grinned at my mistake was still wearing his hat, which looked like he bought from Pharell Williams. He had a shirt that looked like it was made from silk with a little slit in it so it showed his chest a bit and the many tattoos he seemed to have.
The 2 woman were both in skinny pants too and had on blouses. One of them had silver looking hair and was very tiny looking, but older. They both seemed much older then the 4 boys and girl. The guy with the glasses was older looking too and wore regular jeans and a black v-neck. The other two boys had spikey hair and looked similar.
"Here you go," I placed menu's down infront of everyone, "Your server will be with you shortly."
I walked briskly away and could feel them watching me. They were probably laughing about me right now I decided. I came back to my hostess place and checked that the party had shown up.
Raul was busy changing a table cloth for a party of 3 who were coming at 8:45. He looked up at me and caught me staring, and quickly looked back down to his work. Oh, Im an awful person.
After staring at Raul for a couple minutes, I turned my object of attention to the party of ten. I stared at each one of them for a good minute. The one with the hat looked ridiculous in it. It had this cheetah feather sticking out of if too, so I assumed he might be gay.
All of them were laughing at something the one with the girl said. Then the blonde hair one Said something and him and the one with the girl almost fell over laughing while everyone else smiled.
The one with the bed head whispered something to one of the older woman and she nodded and grinned and started her own little private conversation with him.
Sometimes I wished that I could hear these peoples conversations for myself. I wished I could have a "super ear". I was so busy staring I didn't even notice that the one with the hat was staring back at me. I quickly looked away embarrassed once again.
I started organising menus and wondered, Why do I always embarass myself infront of the one with the hat??
