The Broken Ones

-Chapter Nine-

    Today had definitely been one of the worse Tuesdays that I've have. First, I woke up late because my charging cord stopped working-which made us late to school- and I didn't have time for breakfast.

    Then, when me and Steven hopped in the car the battery was almost dead which meant I would have to get that fixed before work and before going shopping with Amber. Today was going to be extra busy.

    Since we were all late to school today we had all gotten tardies, which meant Amber would be serving detention after school on Thursday. But in her words 'the teachers should just piss off'.

I was very upset for most of the morning and just wanted to go to gym to be able to talk to Alec.

By the time I finished changing in the locker room I found Alec and Elijah sitting near the top of the bleachers. Once I reached them I plopped down next to Alec.

"Hey Vic, you have a good mornin'?" He said with a teasing smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes and said, "Just peachy, Camryn tell you about my morning?"

   He nodded, "Yeah she told me while you were texting her first period." I hummed and rested my head on my hand.

    This week in gym we weren't really doing much. It was mainly open gym because the classes were finishing up with their beginning of school year testing. Which luckily meant we could sit on the bleachers and talk all period.

    "So what are you guys talking about?" I said as I turned my attention to Elijah and Alec.

    Ever since Alec told us to 'play nice' Elijah hasn't been glaring at me 24/7, which I appreciated. At the same time it was odd because now it seemed like he was more confused and curious towards me.

    Which I didn't like one bit. It felt like he was studying me.

    "Well if I was a color, what color would I be? Elijah said I'd be gray." Alec said as he crossed his arms slightly glared at Elijah for calling him 'gray'.

   I giggled a little bit at Alec's pouting before thinking. "Hmm I don't know...I think maybe Red." I said while studying Alec a bit.

   "Why?" I was half shocked to hear Elijah ask me, I thought he'd just scoff and disagree.

    "Well I mean you can be kind of aggressive and protective, but you are super loving. And red kinda fits that." I said while fiddling with my fingers.

    "I like that a lot more that gray." Alec said while laughing. I smiled and laughed at him and saw one side of Elijahs mouth lift into a small smile.

   "Okay then, what about me, what color would I be?" I asked getting back into a happier mood.

   Alec immediately responded with, "You'd definitely be light blue." Which received weird looks from both me and Elijah. I turned to Elijah silently asking him what his answer was.

    He seemed to understand, as he did a once over of my face. He squinted his eyes, like he was actually thinking. And then answered with a simple "Purple."

   Now it was my turn to ask him why. "Well your fiery like red, but also calm like blue. So purple." I thought for a second before nodding in acceptance. I smiled, purple happened to be my favorite color.

    "So how about Elijah what's he?" I said while nudging Alecs arm. I had already thought of my answer. This time Alec just shrugged, not really knowing.

   "So?" Elijah prompted while looking directly at me.

    "I think like a dark green, kind of dangerous like army camo. But I don't know-I think of a forest-peaceful and quiet." I answered this time looking at him in the eyes this time.

    He seemed satisfied with my answer and gave me a nod, with curiosity swirling in his eyes.

   That's how the rest of gym went. Alec came up with dumb questions and we all gave even dumber answers.

    The rest of the day seemed to go by pretty smoothly. Amber and I had decided that I'd drop my car off at the mechanic and she'd drive us to the mall and back to get my car, before my 6:00 shift started.

    Once school ended I dropped Amber off and went to the mechanic getting everything sorted out. Luckily as soon as I paid, Amber arrived.

   Once I spotted her car I ran over to it and threw my  backpack in the back before hopping in the passenger seat.

    "So, it gonna be done by the time we're back?" Amber asked while pulling out of the shop.

    "Yeah it's almost going to be perfect timing. Turns out they're gonna change the oil too. Then I'll be all set." I said smiling happily.

    "Perfect, now lets go shopping!" Amber yelled as she reached to turn on the radio.

    It only took about 15 minutes to get to the mall from the mechanic shop. Which meant we had about an hour and a half to find good bathing suits.

    We stopped by some of the cute shops hoping they'd have anything good. But most were sold out or just didn't have anything good.

    So we headed to JCPennys hoping that since they were a big store they had to have something good.

    Half an hour later Amber has found a really cute and simple black bikini. So, now she was helping me look for a good one.

    She ended up picking five for me to try while shoving me into a dressing room. The first two were beatiful dark blues but the cuts were horrible.

    The next one was a really bright yellow, and was well, too bright for my taste. Which left two, a darker green and a white one. I tried the white one on first but it just seemed off.

    I hesitantly reached for the dark green one, as I remembered how earlier I said Elijah was the the color dark green.

    It was ironic, the only bikini I actually really liked happened to be the dark green one. I think Amber said the it was a halter top, with simple bottoms.

I decided it was my favorite and got back into my clothes. Me and Amber bought our bikinis before heading straight back to the mechanic shop.

"Thank you Amber for driving! Love ya!" I said as I hopped out of the car.

She yelled back, "Love you too, see you tomorrow!" I smiled and gave her a wave before collecting my now working car from the mechanic.

It was only 5:30 which meant I had time to get drop off my stuff at home before heading to work, and made it with five minutes to spare.

Tuesday's were rather slow at the diner, so it was just me and another girl named Leslie working today.

I worked on some homework while serving the few people that did come in.

Today was hectic and all over the place, but it did end up well.
