I had my hands up
Boxer style
Punching.
Protecting my wall.
Almost thought I was invincible
And that everything was going to be okay.
Then something
Or Someone
Broke through.
Don't worry,
It was a small hole.
I covered it up real quick.
But once he got in,
He began to push
And push
And push. One brick
At A time.
My wall held after a few brick were broken.
But
Some people began to notice
And they looked in
And saw Him.
They asked
I denied.
Amazing how lies work
They're kinda like sticks.
You lie and a stick appears
which you put in the hole
and it keeps the wall from
completely falling.
But he kept pushing at the bricks.
The sticks gave me splinters
And every time I put another stick up
More splinters jabbed me.
I couldn't stand the pain the splinters gave me.
I looked up and saw someone
Looking at my wall
But
When she looked at the sticks,
She didn't ask
She didn't judge
She didn't care.
She was
A
Friend.
I called to her
She answered "Yes?"
I said
"I have many many sticks holding My wall.
They are giving me splinters.
The splinters hurt"
She asked
"How can I help?"
So I moved some sticks aside
And told her to look through the gaping
Hole.
She did
Then
She looked at me and said
"I have sticks too.
Not as many as you,
but they are still there"
She made a small hole and let me look.
She had a him in there too
But hers looked different.
So the two of us began to help
Each other.
We combined our walls
And we slowly began to make bricks
Trying to rebuild our crumbling walls.
