Highschool Love

Chapter 3

The week passed quickly and as promised the boys didn't mention the fire incident at all. Normally Harry and Liam would have never hung out with people like Zayn and Louis. Niall however had an odd way of bringing them together. In 8th grade, the boys knew each other and had been paired on a couple of projects, but had never hung out together. Niall was oblivious to this however and he was finally able to find his way around the school. By this time another member had joined their group. It happened when Niall had noticed a boy sitting alone and late for his next class. Turns out he was new too, and Niall and him immediately bonded. The new boys name was Shane. He was tall and really skinny. He had naturally blond hair. Which was always styled into a steep quiff. He had crystal blue eyes that sparkled when he was happy. Weird as it was their two by two groups continued even when they were sitting together. They could all be sitting at one table and yet no be a group. However today was different. Niall, Liam, and the new boy Shane has been put together on a project, and Harry, Zayn, and Louis were together on another. Their teacher had put the groups together by pulling popsicle sticks with names on them. None of the boys really cared for geography, and of course Louis and Zayn did their best to pass the class with the least amount of effort possible which Harry found annoying.
"So what are we doing for our project?" Shane asked curiously looking down at Niall's notebook.
"Well we have to pick between Volcanos or the Grand Canyon." Liam said helpfully.
"I want volcano." Louis whined like a small child.
"I guess we're doing the Grand Canyon." Shane said. He caught eyes with Niall for a moment and then they both looked away blushing.
Louis opened his mouth to tease them but then felt Harry's leg kick his. He proceeded to glare at Harry while rubbing his shin. The six boys began to converse about how they were going to do the report. They decided that it would be best to work on this outside of school instead of just in school.
"I vote giraffe do the report cuz he's the smartest." Louis said trying to dominate the group. Louis liked to do minimal effort and boss others around.
"Then I vote Boobear does the shopping." Harry answered back. You could hear the slightest bit of tease in his voice when he said Boobear.
Once again Louis had fire in his eyes only this time it was less intense.
"Great, I'll build the diorama." Zayn said oblivious to what just happened. He had gotten used to the bickering between the guys and usually tried to stay out of it. In times like those, Shane would join him and they'd chill out somewhere else while Niall tried to bring peace.
At the other end of the table the boys decided that they would do everything together, and split the work evenly.
"Whose house do you want to work at?" Asked Liam.
"Well we can work at mine if me parents are home." Niall said.
" Mine's not the best place to build it maybe at one of yours? Shane commented.
" How about my place Niall?" Asked Liam.
" Sounds good" Niall answered.
This project was just the thing that brought the boys together. Throughout the rest of Freshmen year, the boys grew closer.
*End of school year*
"Man I'm really gonna miss you guys." Niall said.
"Me too." The other boys answered in unison.
" We'll have to get together this summer. Sleepovers at my place once a month? Harry asked.
"Man, can you believe we'll be sophomores next year? Zayn asked.
"I heard that sophomore means wise fool." Louis commented in his infamous bossy voice.
" Sounds like you on a daily basis Boobear." Harry said teasingly.
"Oh that's just because you're jealous of me." Louis said sarcastically while rolling his eyes.
The six boys climbed on their separate busses for the last time till next year.

( Sorry that this chapter was so short and fast. I wanted to use these first few chapters so you could get to know the boys a little, and some backstory. Next chapter which will start sophomore year and a summer recap is when the fun will begin.
