Michael and Stephanie Sullivan were your typical couple in love
They met at a taxi rank on a night out , they fell in love ,married and now had a six year old daughter ,Lila
But there was always one thing that was a thorn in their side (and Lila's as well)
Their overbearing family
It all started when Lila was born and continued to today
They were always holding on to Lila and giving advice to Stephanie about what she should do
But poor Lila always bore the brunt of it
She liked to swim on a hot day or go to the beach
But when her grandma and her aunties came round ,she had to wear a "pretty dress "
She wasn't allowed to in the pool or allowed to go anywhere because she had go and see all her relatives would they could make a fuss over her "pretty dress"
If she didn't a big fuss was made and mournful sobbing could be heard
So to keep the peace Lila did as she was told
But sometimes she was jealous to the point of tears
Her cousins could do what they wanted
One time they were allowed to go in the pool but when she asked to go in the pool herself she was asked "but don't you want to wear a pretty dress?" she couldn't answer they then kissed her on the cheek and smiled

Which was their way of saying "no you can't go for a swim because you have to wear a pretty dress"

Michael could see how it was affecting his wife and daughter and It was felt the holiday was required but one which the rest of the Family didn't know about

They had gone for getaways before only to find that the rest of the family would meet them there and the same situation they sought relief from would be there

So some Planning was needed

Michael than went to make arrangements at the Police Station and at Lila's School

The sergeant and the principal were both sympathetic paticularly  the principal as he had dealt with the family in relation to Lila wearing the school uniform (the family had demanded that Lila be allowed to wear a pretty dress at school)

At the police station he informed the sergeant of his travel plans so that if the family was reported missing he could clear it and police would not have to waste resources looking for them by a frantic and overbearing family

He had then made arrangements with the principal to say they were going on holidays
and that Lila would be taken out of school early that day (The last day of term)but that family  other than himself or Stephanie was not to be told
