𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑟𝑡𝑒𝑒𝑛

kennedy woke up before zach did, so she walked down to the beach to watch the sunrise.

she sat in the warm sand looking out into the ocean as someone sat next to her. she looked over to see zach.

"you like watching the sunrise?" he asked.

"yea, it was something my mom and i would do," she answered.

"what happened to her?" asked zach.

"my dad, he uh, got mad one time and beat her to her death, he's in jail now," she answered, a few tears running down her face.

"i'm so sorry kennedy," he said, pulling her into a tight hug.

"it's fine, thanks," she said.

"we should go to the carnival in town," he said, trying to cheer her up.

she looked over smiling, she nodded her head agreeing.

"i have to go home and change i'll pick you up in 2 hours," he said, pulling out his phone to call an uber.

"see you then," she smiled, placing a kiss on his cheek as she got up to walk back to her house.

she turned around seeing the boy's hand on his cheek, blushing. she smiled to herself, still walking in the direction of her house.

zach pulled his white camaro into the parking lot of the carnival.

"you ready?" he asked.

"yea," she smiled.

they both got out of the vehicle walking to each other, locking hands.

they got to the entrance to pay, as much as kennedy wanted to pay for herself, zach insisted.

"what do you want to ride first?" he asked.

"maybe the pirate ship," she smiled.

"sure, race you," he took off running.

"hey!" she yelled, running after him.

they made it to the line both giggling and trying to catch their breath.

"next!" the man called.

the two made their way onto the ride, taking their seats in the very front.

many screams filled the air as the ride went, only making the two laugh harder.

they went on many more rides as the night went on, but it soon came to an end.

"thank you for this amazing day," she smiled.

"you're welcome," he smiled.

"can i, uhm, do something?" he asked.

"sure zach," she smiled.

the boy leaned in brushing his soft lips against hers before placing a soft kiss on the girls plump lips. feeling her warm breath as he pulled away.
