Chapter 4

"I'm sorry you had to witness that, Ponyboy. He's usually a lot worse though." I say.
"No, I'm glad I came before he did anything worse to you. Hey, Dally, Johnny and I are going to the drive in movie tonight. You wanna come?" He says with blushed cheeks and a smile.
"I wish I could, but I have to tutor soda. What about tomorrow?" I say. I really really really want to go, but I can't tell him that. I don't want him to think I'm weird.
"O-oh, okay. Tomorrow?" He exhaled.
"Yeah, tomorrow."
"It's a date!" Ponyboy said. This made me blush very badly. I giggle in response. He just said its a date!

*fast forward to that night*

"Get up you worthless child." I hear from across the dark room.
"What did I do to deserve this? I'm sorry Gabriel died! It wasn't my fault!" I say sobbing.
"You ugly, worthless excuse for a child." my father yells. He breaks the bottle in his hand.
"Wake up! Wake up!" I hear.
I open my eyes. It's Audree.
"What happened?" I asked.
"You had another nightmare." She said, with sadness in her eyes.
"Is everyone back yet?" I say. I hope Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally all made it back okay.
"Well... Um... No. Darry hit Ponyboy, Ponyboy ran away, Johnny is in the lot, and Dally is at a party." Audree told me. Great.
"I'm going to go to sleep, let me know if anything goes on." I say sleepily.

I wake up in an empty room. Ponyboy and Johnny are gone. I get up and walk into the living room.
"Hey Darry." I said groggily. "Where is Ponyboy?"
He was crying. Then all my memories came flooding back to me. Darry hit him and he left. I picked up the newspaper.
'Two boys wanted for the murder of Bob Sheldon' was the headline.
' "We were just messing with him, and the tan boy stabbed bob." Said Randy Adderson.' I read to the bottom. There was two descriptions. They perfectly described Johnny and Ponyboy. I ran to the party Dally was at. I ran in the house until I found Dallas Winston.
"Dally you are going to tell me where they are. I know you know. Tell me right now, or I swear you won't live to see tomorrow." I said angrily.
"I don't know what you are talking about." he casually told me.
"I swear I will cut you." I threaten him.
"Damn, fine. Ponyboy and Johnny are heading to Texas." He said.
"Don't play games with me. I know you're lying. I'll seriously do it." I say as I pull out my switchblade.
"Woah, okay. They went to Windrexville. They have money and a gun. They went to Jay Mountain, in an abandoned church." He said.
I left the party, got on a motorcycle and drove off.
