FAMILY FEUD

The pizzeria had never been more silent than those boring nights where nothing interesting was going on. Freddy's was mostly busy during the day, it was a place where children could be entertained and eat to their heart's desire.
However, to one security guard, it was a painful reminder of what he did years ago. Vincent stepped into the building and checked to make sure no one else was in there. Perfect he thought to himself. It's time to make things right after so many years. He slowly walked over to Pirate's Cove, as if to not wake the spirits of the building.
Behind the purple starred curtains was the animatronic fox Foxy. The robot stood there gazing at the security guard with its bright yellow, yet damaged, eyes. As soon as Foxy "saw" Vincent open his mouth, a voice that sounded like a young girl yelled, "You are not welcome here!" Then he saw her.

  His beloved daughter.

The girl jumped out from behind Foxy and knocked down her father. She stared down at him with hateful bright red eyes, a trait that he and her mother never had but she had inherited. The person who she had formerly loved and trusted sighed. He had never seen her angry like this, except for that one time she and her best friend Sophie had a really big fight—back when they were actually alive. Of course his daughter had every right to be upset! Vincent had tragically murdered her and her four friends!
"What are you doing here?!" she yelled, tightly grabbing Vincent's uniform with her small fists.
Vincent sat up and grabbed his daughter's arms. "Eli, I'm here because...I want to apologize for what I did to you and your friends," he told her in a serious but empathetic tone, his gaze not leaving her. Eli kept quiet as she stood up from her position.
There was an awkward silence between the father and daughter until Eli started laughing.
"You really expect me to forgive you after what you did to me [REDACTED] years ago!?" the child replied.
"If you-" Vincent's words were cut off by the ghost.
  "JUST SHUT UP DAD!"
The girl's father was too shocked to have enough time to react just as Eli punched him with all the strength she could muster. He covered his face as blood started trickling out of his nose. His eyes suddenly turned black with tiny pinprick white irises. As he looked up, Eli backed away slowly.
"You...little..." The man in purple inched slowly towards her, his voice becoming angrier and angrier.
Eli stayed frozen in place, just like the animatronics during the day; forced to sing those same stupid songs to kids. That's when she remembered.

  D̶͇̟́͐̓͜ơ̵̤̒͘é̵̦͇̃̈s̵̜̉ ̴̖̊̃t̶̮̤͍͔͑́͂h̶̫̮͐̆ị̴͔̻̿̿s̸̠̝͆ ̶͔̳̺̃͜r̶̪͙͙͑̈́ͅe̸͎͗m̴̹̦͝ì̷̹̱n̵̡̞̄͐́̎d̶̨̥̬̻̄̔ ̴̞̳͔̭̋͋͛̄ÿ̸̧͍̖̕͜o̷̙͌̇u̵͉̗͎͋̀̕ ̸̨̖̖̫̄̐̋ó̴͈́̄f̵̫͇́̒ ̴̭͖͂̚a̷̻̪̳̋̍̂̆n̸͔͍̲͖̊͠y̴̮̏t̴̙̣̦̍h̵̺́ị̵̇̾̃͠n̵̺͎͌̀g̴͍̻̳̮͝?̴͈̹̹̂̊̅̚

"D-daddy? Don't hurt me! Please!" Eli screamed. She crouched down with her hands covering her head.
Vincent's eyes immediately returned back to its blank white state as he heard those haunting words. The exact words that his daughter had said right before her life was taken away by her own father. "Oh god, no! Please no! Anything but this!" Vincent felt the tears forming in his eyes. He had come over to apologize to his child but now he had made things even worse by reliving their worst nightmares. "I-I can't be here right now.." His voice cracked from the hurt and forgotten memories.
And just like that, he scuffled out of the building, not saying another word.

Eli sat down, her back resting on the wall. She pulled out a photograph from her shorts' pocket and smiled. It was a family picture that was taken a couple years ago, probably when she was around 7 or 8 years old.

Back when she was still alive and happy...

Vincent was holding Eli in his arms as she was making a toothy grin. Her mother Elizabeth had her little brother in her lap. Her brother was a crybaby back then. Wonder if he's still one now? Her little sister held the Bonnie plush as she did the silly little bunny ears sign with her fingers behind her father. She was the complete opposite of her crybaby twin; extroverted, outgoing, and a social butterfly— exactly like her big sister. The only child in the picture that didn't have either Elizabeth's reddish brown hair or Vincent's purple hair was Eli's older sister. Her's was jet black, something she got from her real father, but she had her mother's bright blue eyes. She  and Eli never got along back when she was still alive, it was always over something silly. She was always close with Elizabeth but was cold towards Vincent, never referring to him as "Dad" like her siblings did. Maybe because Vincent wasn't her— She was standing awkwardly between her mother and father, hands in pockets. Unlike her family who seemed to be having a great time, it looked like she was forced to be in it. Typical sister of mine. Always not wanting to be near Daddy. What's her problem?  Her older sister had matured now and forgot all those silly little fights she had with her sister. Oh, if Eli were to see her now...
Eli's hands shook as she held the picture even more. Unexpectedly, a wet dark spot hit the paper then came more. It came to the attention of Eli immediately that she had started crying. She muttered something under her breath. Her crying gradually became louder and louder until she began to sob heavily. She hugged the family photo for comfort, staining her red sweater sleeves with salty tears. Her family had gone on without her! She was never going to see her siblings graduate or marry or have kids.

How heartbreaking it felt to have your only other family not know what really happened to you?

FIN.
