Finding Him

It was just like any other day, I got woken up by mum knocking at my door and shouting, " Nerissa, will you get out of your dream world and start your day, its last year of school for you, please start waking up early!" 

well, told you, just like any other day, I looked at the clock and it was 7 am, a good morning indeed with me running 30mins late for school. I couldn't believe it, last year of school? wow finally. time flies? No, in my case, it was walking, probably strolling but well my years of school were filled with tests, assignments, due dates, and group projects, and the number of times I stayed up to complete them, don't get me started. I started getting ready for school, was it only me or you guys have a uniform code that absolutely doesn't make any sense? I grabbed a pair of black jeans and a hoodie and tied my hair up in a ponytail, I always got complimented for my light brown locks and I had a light coloured skin, the house was always filled with a hustle and bustle.  I got greeted by my brother with, " damn Neri, planning on sitting for detention again? you are going to beat my record lmao" he just couldn't shut up, could he now?

I ate a garlic butter toast and drank a glass of milk and ran to catch the bus. Not going to lie, the morning sky is always so beautiful to look at, I don't know about you but I could stare at the sky for hours and its beauty never ends, maybe keets was right, beautiful things and people? they kiss you in ways you couldn't have imagined before. I plugged in my headphones and Keshi started playing and I ran fast, I was just going to miss the bus but guess what? finally made it. I started scrolling through my Instagram and sat at the window seat. 

The moment I entered the school, I got greeted by Tori running and hugging me

" Where have you been?? I didn't see you at the party yesterday bro, you missed so much"

" you know Tori, Asian parents, not easy to convince but I promise you, definitely gonna attend the upcoming parties "

I have been friends with Tori for 5 years now, she might look like one of those class bunkers and party freaks but she was the A student you wish you could cheat from and was the funniest person I know. she always wore colour themed clothes and today she went with light black yoga pants and a white top which matched well with her black locks.

She slung her arm around me, " which class you got rn?"

"My day is always gonna start with the physics teacher asking me about the laws of motion and why I didn't do the assignments, you know it, Tori"

" Good luck for that one, that woman can't stop shouting and throwing assignments at you guys, may the Lord be with you and you get a free class today"

" hahaha as if, I don't even remember once that she got sick or went on a vacation lmao, anyways I' ll see ya after the class, love ya"

" Don't miss me too much" 

I made my way to the class, well let's get over with classes, the class started with us learning about friction and laws of motion, no offence, me and physics,  we just didn't vibe and the class finally came to an end  and I decided to spend few minutes in the field before going to my next class for the day, the sunshine kissed my face as I laid down and closed my moments, a nap won't hurt right? the moment I was drifting to sleep, I got woken by some boys laughing loudly and decided to see who these idiots were, only to see three guys sitting by the bleachers with cigarettes between their lips but only one caught my attention, he was wearing this beanie with chains around his neck, the typical boy but something was different about him, the way he carried himself was beautiful, every word oozed out with confidence from his lips as if he knew he could catch your attention. I didn't realise that I was starting for a bit too long and I was staring at him while he caught me staring at him, okay yikes, now what do I do?

I did the next best thing I could only dream myself doing, I rolled my eyes and whispered " typical wannabes" wow Nerissa, that's how you get guys, totally, just pretend they wanted your attention. 

is it wrong to say that he had absolutely gorgeous hazel eyes? and he raised his eyebrows at me, almost mockingly and I heard the bell ring and I was on my way to the next class. the day went pretty quickly afterwards but my mind was stuck on this guy that I saw at bleachers, where have I see him? do I know him? and my thoughts got disrupted by Reb and tori slamming their trays down at the lunch table while they asked me 

" so where this time Neri? which dreamland have you entered now milady?"

God, these two. " Not in dreamland, I'm very well in touch with reality" 

" sure Neri, sure" 

we ate our lunch, talked about our leaver's party and all that stuff and went to attend the final class for the day which was biology, now that's what I loved studying, Mr Thompson went decided to teach us about human physiology, was pretty interesting and the moment the bell rang, I finally stretched and told myself, " last year and free" and I  made my way through the halls and finally out of the school when I saw him, he was lying down on the field while he had a notebook and a pen in his hand, what was he even doing?
