Chapter 7: Sacrifice

We're here in Canada for our second tour, and it's day 3. Tomorrow, we'll fly to New York.

After that overnight on Chanyeol's unit, we didn't get to meet each other again. He became busy with his collaboration with other artists. He's a busy man again, and then there comes our comeback and tour.

We just finished our concert and gathered here in the backstage before we go back to the hotel that we're staying at. It's our first tour for this comeback, that's why we're all excited. We took a picture with the staff and dancers.

We're close to them and treat them as our seniors because they're already working for SM even before Red Velvet's debut. I'm comfortable around them because they never treated us special. Actually, we'll never have this concert if it's not because of them.

Our backup dancers actually knew about Yerim's past secret relationship and also mine. We trust them because, since our debut, they're already with us. Honestly, all of our labelmates knew about us, but we decided to keep it as a company secret.

"Wahh! Jinjja!" Sooyoung looked disappointed. They're all looking at me.

"Eonni, where's your phone?" Erin asked, one of the dancers. I waved my phone at her.

"Wae?" Then the notification bell ring. I was about to turn on my phone but Yerim stopped me.

"What's the problem, Yerim-a?" I asked her. They're all looking at me.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked them. I looked at Joohyun eonni and Seulgi, but they're both quiet and looking at me like they're worried about something.

"Aniya, aniya. Just don't use your phone for the meantime." Sooyoung said.

"But why? There's a notif, I still need to look at it. Maybe it's important." I told them. Yerim was about to stop me again but I already look at it.

"What's this?" I said. There's an article of a dispatch. Another dating news of an idol. 

Dispatch: EXO's Chanyeol and Actress Go Jin Ae are rumored dating.

They were seen together in the Han River, hugging each other.

SNF Entertainment immediately confirmed that the actress is dating the EXO member, Chanyeol. "Jin Ae is dating EXO's Chanyeol for a month, and both are in love with each other."

SM Entertainment hasn't confirmed it yet. 

"Eonni..." Sooyoung said. I didn't realize that my tears were already flowing.

We didn't talk for a month. Maybe... maybe during that time that we're not together, he's already seeing her. He should've broken up with me, by then.

We're already in our room. I'm sharing it with Seulgi. I threw my phone on my bed, and go on the terrace.

"Yah, Son Seungwan! Don't you trust Chanyeol? He will never do this to you! He's so in love with you. Don't cry." She's hugging me from the back.

"I don't know, Seulgi-a. He didn't answer my calls and messages for the past month. He never called me, even once! I just thought that maybe he's busy with his collaboration, but I guess he's busy seeing someone."

"Don't jump to your conclusions yet. He's Park Chanyeol, he will never do such a thing that will hurt you badly. He will never--

"He already hurt me, he didn't even think of me, he didn't bother to reply to my messages. We're very good, but why suddenly... suddenly, he distance his-self away from me. Maybe, he's already tired of me." I said. Seulgi pulled away.

"No way! I'll call him. I'll get rid of him!-- Seungwani! Chanyeol's calling." She lends me my phone, but I didn't get it to her.

"Yah! You answer it. You'll never know why it happened when you don't hear his reasons. You answer it!" She lectured me, and hand me my phone. I answered it, and she closed the sliding door to give me some privacy.

Third Person's POV

"Seungwan-a" Chanyeol said.

"Mianhae, jeongmal mianhae." He said. Wendy's already crying.

"So it's really true?" She said, hoping that it's false.

"Mianhae." She looks at the tv in their room and saw the news about them with her name on it.

SM Entertainment denied the dating rumor of EXO's Chanyeol and Actress Go Jin Ae, "They're not yet dating, as Chanyeol just broke up recently with Red Velvet's Wendy."

"Chanyeol-a, I didn't know that we already broke up. So that one month with no interactions means that we... broke up? I'm such... such a fool for not knowing it." She said, she can't stop her tears anymore.

"Wae? Why are you doing this to me? WAE, PARK CHANYEOL?!" She's angry and she feels betrayed by the person she loves all this time.

"Mianhae, I fell out of love." He said, sobbing quietly.

"Is this the end of us?" She doesn't want to say those words, but she feels like it's really the end of their story.

"Haven't you heard the news? It says all of it." He harshly answered. She wiped her tears.

"Well, it just started with a dare, so it's not really a loss for me. Let's just stay as colleagues, that will be the best for both of us. I'm lying if I will tell you that I'm rooting for you and Jin Ae, but I hope you'll be happy." Seungwan ended the call, she fell on the floor and continued to cry. Seulgi ran to hug her. 

Meanwhile, Chanyeol's crying in front of Lee Soo Man. He's hurting but he needs to do it for her. He wants to tell her that it is all a lie. Lee Soo Man's lecturing him for not telling Wendy the truth.

"Chanyeol-a, you're hurting yourself! You should've just told her to wait--

"It's for her. If I did that, Jin Ae will do whatever it takes to mess up with Seungwan. I can sacrifice, just for her."
