james' hands couldnt stop shaking. he had actually just talked to sunny, the girl he had had a crush on for almost a year. he hadnt been able to properly open up, but itd come with time. thats just what he had to keep telling himself.

james pulled himself out of bed and into the kitchen, where fraser was ready and waiting.

"i heard you freaking out in there. are you alright?" he had hints of worry in his eyes.

"im fine." the man replied, his voice getting slightly higher as he spoke.

frasers face twisted into that of a disapproving look, but started preparing breakfast instead of pushing his roommate to talk to him.

"what do you want to ea-"
"sunny messaged me and i was really mean but i didnt want to be and now shes never going to talk to me again and oh god fraser ive ruined my chances with her help me."

james had panic written all over his face.

"okay mate, take a deep breath and lets talk. show me the messages."

with trembling hands, he pulled out his phone and clicked on her name. his roommate scrolled slowly, analysing each little part of their short conversation. his eyebrows were furrowed and he was nodding his head gently. the taller man sat and waited patiently with a huge knot of anxiety moving up from his stomach to his chest, then his throat, until he was throwing up words, tears forming in his eyes.

"james. james!"

he stopped talking for a second and looked at the smaller man.

"she obviously wants to talk to you. if she didnt, why would she tease you and then beg you to come back? she likes your personality, mate. even though you are an emotionless bastard."

they chuckled quietly before giving each other a smile. one of reassurance, one of thanks.

"okay. ill send her another message."
