It's been 3 weeks since Emily's surgery. I've been working from home and going to the office once a week. It's hard to do it but I kinda have to get used to it when I have our baby.
Ali: how does your chest feel?
Emily: it feels better than it did when I had the surgery.
Ali: I know.
I look at his scar.
Ali: I thought I was going to lose you.
Emily: never baby.
The door opens. It's the doctor. I stand up from his bed.
Ali: hi Doctor Jackson.
Jackson: hi Alison hi Emily. It's been 3 weeks. Emily hows your chest any tightness or anything unusual?
Emily: no Doc I just want to eat normal food.
Jackson: ok lets have a look at your heart.
I sit on the bed. Emily puts his hand on my bump.
Ali: she's sleeping.
I look at the monitor. I smile.
Ali: so?
He doesn't say anything. He just keeps looking around. After he's done. He gets up.
