won't you come take me for a ride?
you look so happy hanging by a string
without a care in the world, but with happiness you sing!
balloon boy, balloon boy, its so lonely down here
come take my hand, fly me away from my drear
my hand in yours, yours in mine
up above the clouds we climb!
balloon boy, balloon boy, its so lonely where I reside
the children do not play, all the adults hide
the houses are all gray, its sickening to see
even animals know my home is where they shouldn't be
balloon boy, balloon boy, what a magical sight
with tree tops and mountains, my fear has no flight
my heartaches and troubles, all of my despair
no longer can hurt me, even if they dare
balloon boy, balloon boy, oh how it feels
to grace the skies with the world at my heels!
the clouds and the sun, my newest of friends
along with you who believes without end
balloon boy, balloon boy, you wipe away my tears
the journey end is coming, one of my saddest fears
I can't go back down there, and face this world of unknown
up here its so much nicer, and I hardly feel alone
balloon boy, balloon boy, you land me on my feet
it is the gray houses that my eyes first greet
the clouds start to rain, and i start to sigh
maybe i'm not meant to be part of the sky
