"For My Sanity"

"For My Sanity"

I just can't let you go,
not completely,
not like I should.
A small piece still lingers.
deep in my heart,
you remain where you stood.
Misery engulfs,
the good in me,
you stay in my mind.
Constantly nagging,
I wish your memory would depart,
give peace to my heart,
continually bragging.
How good you were,
for my sanity,
I kept you around.
Now alone and shattered,
I live in despair,
no relief found.

"A Way Out"

She sits and watches,
the blood hit the floor.
The pain inside,
she can't take anymore.

A way out,
is what she needs.
A sweet release when she bleeds.

Scars left behind,
reminders of the past.
Alone in her room,
she hopes this doesn't last.

To make them listen,
she wants to scream.
A happy life,
just someone's dream.

To feel better,
she must cut into her skin.
Fighting a cruel battle,
she'll never win.

"The Monster Inside"

I lie awake,
crying inside.
No tears can I show,
too many scars to hide.

Pain deep in my soul,
it's all taking control.
My sanity slowly fades,
it all takes a toll.

My body aches,
cuts deep within.
I feel like a monster,
trapped in human skin.

Tortured memories,
left from years of abuse.
made to suffer,
there was no excuse.

rage, made to control,
tears fall silently down my face.
cutting and self-mutilation
now takes place.

the monster inside,
now wants free.
With angry words,
I'm no longer me.

"Finally Free"

Betrayed...sadness engulfs her.

Loneliness and hurt fill her soul.

Trust is broken by hatred.

Anger pervades her body.

Bitterness and bile takes hold of her heart,

Dread flows through her blood.

A thought crosses her mind,

as a smile touches her lips.

The anger slowly subsides,

giving way to better things.

Joy springs up from deep inside.

The hatred vanishes in the blink of an eye.

A single tear slips down her face.

All the pain has gone.

She's finally free.

"Shattered Trust"

Sadness continues growingIn the depths of her soul.

Trust shattered by her best friend.

Only time will heal the inflicted wounds

scars hidden in her heart.

Pain cutting to the core

All alone,she cries out!

With her heart broken into,

she rises once again to her feet.

She embraces a new day.

Anger overwhelms the sadness,

making the hurt worse.S

he decides to let go and to move on.
