There were hushes over her head, then it turned to somewhat aggressive whispers.
"But she wasn't supposed to manifest in that form!"
"Are you sure there's no single trail of the Phoenix's blood in you? Was any of your ancestors a phoenix or a bird? If not, why did she transform into that form before passing out?"
"It was some kind of...of sign. She only took that form for like five minutes. I think it's a sign, about something. I'm not too sure about what it is." Natalia sounded close to Kara that she could feel someone's breath on her face.
Someone scoffed so faintly under their breath but Kara caught it. That was Adrian scoffing.
"How would you know, Natalia?" Adrian asked.
"I just know it. I've read the book of the moon goddess written by the ancient Danis Forelov. Also, I've studied the five oldest manuals of witchcraft and sorcery. I did my findings long ago."
Kara furrowed her brows as the words got clearer till she could pick the exact words and also recognize the voices.
Then she opened her eyes, slowly at first before widening them and staring up at the bright ceiling.
There were arms around her, soothingly warm around her midriff. Kara groaned as the pain penetrated into her skull, numbing her for a second before she regained consciousness and her eyes cleared brightly.
"Kara?" Her mother called softly, caressing her hair. Then Natalia turned around, "She's awake!" She whisper yelled at those behind her.
"They can see that, Natalia. Kara dear, how do you feel?" Kara heard Stephano ask in a deep baritone as he looked down at her.
His eyes were the same gold, moon shaped form from before.
Kara stared into his eyes, mesmerized. She wondered why young master Stephano, who always glared, was suddenly talking to her. But maybe it was because she had imagined going through hell seconds ago and almost running mad that the intensity made her faint.
She chuckled and wondered how she could have imagined her fingers extending out of her flesh. That was awfully ridiculous.
No wonder she was just waking up. She'd probably fainted when her imagination got too wild.
She blinked to clear her mind. Young master Stephano...she was in his arms.
"Young master..." She called raspily.
Her throat was dry and Natalia quickly stretched a cup of water to her, helping her place it on her lips. Kara gulped the water and moved her mouth away so her mother would take the cup.
"Yes?" She heard the young master's rich voice reply her. It was deeper than she remembered it to be, and it had an edge to it.
"Your eyes. They're gold..." She murmured. There were several questions slamming into her head. What just happened? Why did she have such an imagination? Why was she in Stephano's arms?
Stephano chuckled and heaved a sigh. "Yes, Kara. When you get better, we'll talk about that. Call me Stephano from now on."
"What? Sir-"
"Shh. Stephano, call me Stephano." Stephano ordered softly, soothingly.
Kara furrowed her brows in wonderment.
