"Please, give me the red test tube, phosphor." My dad would always ask for my help when he was testing, and he seemed to really love me. To the point of keeping me in his windowless, isolated lab complex. He was mixing lots of chemicals of weird substances that he told me were "alien" and he strictly instructed me to wear protective wear all the time. I went over to the red flask full of a clear liquid and handed it to him, he nodded and poured it into this weird small egg.

The egg had no immediate effect. "This should make it grow larger. The last tests failed, but this is sure to work." He walked out of the room and left the complex with it. "We're done for today. You can head over to the living room. I have a gift for your fifteenth birthday. I hope you enjoy it!" He then left and slammed the door shut, and I sighed. It was cool to help him out, but he never let me see the results afterwards.

I kept all my equipment on, as I should always have on, and went over to the living room area, which looked like every other room of the lab. It had sleek black tile flooring and many wooden benches with fluffed pillows. It was filled with many books, and there was a shelf specifically for my schoolwork, which he taught me only math and science, some English as well. The rest of the books and shelves were for his studies and he told me to keep out of them. I did, being bored and him telling me most of his studies. He kept telling me about these creatures that hatched rarely from these eggs. I wanted to see one, but wasn't allowed to exit the complex at any costs.

In the center of the room laid a single, small blue present. He liked to make the gifts look small, which led to another large present, so I opened it quickly and it was a single paper, as always.

The paper read: "Hey Phosp! I have been waiting for a long time to let you have this gift. It's a key to the door you always wanted to see. It lead out to a greenhouse. I'm sure I've taught you about them. They have windows and are made to grow plants to put it simply. I know how much you've wanted to see the world, so I've been growing many plants in there and it gives you a great view of the outside of the labs! But I digress, it isn't for me. It's for you. I've set up the big present out there, and you can enjoy it out there with the greenhouse!" I turned the paper around and saw the small, green key.

I knew the living room was the only room without cameras, as I have searched every room when I was ten. I knew they couldn't record audio, so I had cheered and hopped over to the large, green door. He loves to color code his rooms, so I knew what door this key went to.

As I turned the key, it didn't open the door. I turned both ways, shifted myself side to side, but nothing worked. I got so close to cursing as I realized that there was another door.

This door was unlike every other door in the labs. It was a faded white color, and seemed to colorless to be in here. I snuck over to the door and, amazingly, the key fit in there. I knew I would not be allowed in here by my dad, but it didn't matter, as I could just close it again before he got back. I quietly opened to door and got the greatest shock of my life.

This room was the surveillance room, but it had cameras only to a different complex. I thought this was an accident, but realized the big present was in this room instead. It opened and inside the big box was a chair.

The chair seemed to fit my size, and was the perfect height to sit of the cameras. There was yet another sheet of paper inside of it. "Hey, I kind of lies about the greenhouse. This is the room I've been wanting to show you. I'm sure you will enjoy it once you really look at the screens. The test today was also fake, I'm behind you." As I read the last word I jumped as I heard a "boo!" From behind me.

He laughed, and then explained more in detail. "This room is of the lab complex I head off to take the eggs we have been working on for a while. I've decided to finally let you see our work, and the creatures we have made. They are... well we can look at them now, can't we?" He pointed towards the seats and I headed over to mine.
