and aside from pdx101 and movies, i watched mnets new boygroup survival show road to kingdom !! i first watched because oneus (and ptg, tbz, golcha) and im pretty pleased with all of the stages so far~ especially the boyz !! they really deserve the no.1 spot like they're giving it their all !! like their 90 second performance was so cool and their danger stage was amazing and based off the preview for episode 4 of rtk im excited to see what they have to offer, it already looks so cool !
as a tomoon tho, im kind of dissapointed oneus got the 7th place on the first assessement (? if u can call it that) because i really liked their stage, even tho there werent a lot of group dancing like kpop idols do most of the time, (no offence, really, i just dont know what to call the usual group-dancing sorta thing that kpop groups do onstage most of the time) they brought interesting props and made use of the props and the background dancers really well imo !! although im kind of dissapointed that the ones to do the backflips and tricks were the background dancers and not the boys themselves, but i get it. they also used a song with a message thats relevant with today. i just hope that they wont be eliminated next episode :( but then again i dont want any of the groups to be eliminated so thats gonna be hard *sigh*
but aside from eliminations, i was pleasantly surprised with onfs everybody performance and toos rising sun performance !! the everybody performance was really interesting to watch (and hear tbh, like the beginning part was my fav, it reminded me of exo's mama and i absolutely LOVE the beginning part) and the rising sun performance's choreo was really cool, its hard to believe they only debuted back in april !!
the pentagon and verivery performances for the first 'assessement' didnt really astonish me as much, im sorry :( even tho i like kangmin reaching out and being flirty and cute and whatnot, i still think that it could be more interesting (but based off of the 4th episode preview it looks like veriverys performance is gonna be MAD interesting, so i cant wait !!) and pentagons performance wasnt my favorite, even tho they performed one of my current fav song, very good. maybe i expected too much because they were the oldest group out of the 7 groups that were there but yeah, it didnt really impress me as much as i thot i would. (im sorry universes and verrers 😔) i enjoyed both the verivery & pentagon 90 second performances and maybe i just put my expectations too high after that im sorry :(
but n e ways, pentagons last performance as 8 (jinho :( ) with shine + spring snow was way more enjoyable imo. it hit me (and all of the contestants) right in the feels and idk, i just like it more than the very good stage but thats my opinion hshshshs.
