Ember's turmoil

LEADING:
Solaris is a kingdom which once consisted of four independent realms; The South, West, North and East. They'd sworn to never lay hand upon one another's property. That aid however got broken by the South, an empire with no worries, no agony, no indigence.
But like history has taught us everything still isn't enough.
The lords and the king of the South allied and took down kingdom after kingdom. The East even was fully destroyed for its inhabitants refused to accept greed taking over their beloved lands. They fought until the last breath was let out, losing. Every kingdom was subjugated except for the North.
It was known for their strong will and inevitable stubbornness.
To this day the north is fighting for their freedom and will.
Solaris though wasn't your regular empire state of average people living within.
The Solarians were gifted. Some of them to say the least.
It's said the mother started it all millenniums ago enriching a handful humans with the power of controlling an element.
The present of the goddess was passed down for uncountable generations. But soon envy and fear quickly overran the ordinary human's soul. They feared for their life as there were people among them who could end their lifetime with the blink of an eye.
So they'd end theirs first.
With this notion they started killing those so-called sorcerers.
The Waterrunners hid in the mountains, the snow reminding them of their far home. The Firebearers ironically hid at the coast, hoping people wouldn't see through their tactic. The desert soon was home of the Groundbreakers, they were by far the most lucky affinity.
But not every affinity was able to hide out and wait for better times. The East, which was the home of the Windwalkers, had been the first to fall in the long-lasting war against the South. They weren't shown mercy.
One and a half century has passed since the South had nearly overtaken whole Solaris.
And the regular people began forgetting about magic's roots and were raised to loathe Sorcerers and magic, even when forgetting about the original source of their hatred towards them.
To this day animosity and disgust are deeply interwoven with Mages. Had the peasants only known what was about to become of Solaris, they would have probably dropped down to their knees begging for forgiveness of their ancestors' mistake of ever declaring magicians their enemy.
