Amelia's PoV
I glanced at the clock watching the time tick by. The florist I worked in had no customers and I was hoping to get off work early to go catch up with my best friends.
My manager approached me with a polite smile. "Hi Amelia" she said kindly. "I'm sorry business is slow again, you may as well g..."
Just as she was about to let me go home three guys walk through the door "great" I muttered stubbornly to myself, then did my best attempt at a fake smile. My manager, rather conveniently disappeared out back, leaving me to deal with the three, extremely Handsome boys in front of me.
"Hi can I help" I asked trying to hide the irritation of them being here. "Yeah, erm so it's my anniversary today and I kinda forgot, so I want a beautiful bunch of flowers to make up for it and put me in the good books again" a brunette guy said as he nervously scratch the back of his head. "Well you're in the right place, what sorts of flowers does your significant other like" I said not knowing the inns and out of his relationship. As I said this, I caught the eye of an incredibly good looking guy, who was the literal definition of tall, dark and handsome, and in that second I felt as though he was staring into my soul.
"Yeah she likes things that are pink and purple but I'm not really sure what type of flowers she likes best." The guy stressed, diverting my attention back to him. "Henri, you've been with her for years mate" an incredibly brummie boy joked with his friend. "Well over there are all the pink and purple flowers we have in store" I said pointing directly behind them. "Have a browse and feel free to ask me any questions"
The boys made their way over to the flowers I had pointed to and I decided to water some of the flowers I had neglected earlier on.
The lads must have been staring at the flowers for the last ten minutes when the brummie boy became impatient. "How about you just buy her roses! Every woman loves roses" he said desperately wanting to hurry his friend up.
"How cliché" I muttered to myself over the other side of the room, annoyed at the ignorance I just heard. "Cliches can be cute" a deep voice quietly said behind me. I jumped but didn't make a noise, not wanting to cause a scene. "Jesus, you scared me, and it's rude to eavesdrop" I said annoyed at his audacity. "How can it be eavesdropping if you said it out loud?" He smiled, revealing his bright white teeth. "Okay fine, but I wasn't talking to you either way" I replied feistily, not in the mood for any of this. "Okay, just trying to make conversation didn't mean to upset you!" he said holding his hands up, signalling defeat. "I'm not upset" I sighed. "But I cannot even explain to you how many men come in, having forgot an important day, whether it's a birthday, anniversary or even Valentine's Day! And think that roses will make up for it. They're boring." I ranted. "Noted. I'm Tyrone by the way". "Okay" I replied bluntly turning to get back to my work. "Do I not get to know your name?" He questioned. "Can't you read" I said signalling the the name badge on my shirt". "You seem irritated" he continued. "No I'm fine just trying to do my job" I said once again giving a fake smile.
"Ty, what do you think of these?" The guy buying the flowers said. "Well I'm not going to be much help" he said laughing and walking over to rejoin his friends. After about five more minutes of them all looking lost at the wall of flowers, I decided the only way to get them to leave quickly was if I told them what flowers to buy. "Have you decided?" I asked politely as I made my way over to them" "to be honest, im struggling id really appreciate your help...Amelia" he said squinting at the name written on my shirt, "I'm Henri, and this is Jack and Tyrone" "pleasure", I said bluntly, "how about these, they're one of the most popular bunches we sell" I suggested pointing to a mix of pink and purple gerberas. "also maybe add some pink lilies for their aromatic scent". After a few more minutes of deliberating the boys finally settled on an arrangement of flowers, which I bound and wrapped beautifully.
"Take care" I said as they were leaving. Tyrone hung back bit and simply said "hope to see you around more often"
And with that I finished up for the day.

"Oh please come!!!" Evie asked me repeatedly trying to get me to agree to going to some lame party that her lover boy wanted her to go to". She had started seeing a footballer called Ben who played for Leicester city after she met him at a charity night with the company she worked for. However, given the fact that she lives in Birmingham and he travels a lot for work on the weekends, she doesn't get to see him too much. He is coming to Birmingham for one of his footballer friends birthdays and he wants Evie to go, but Evie being Evie cant go alone and wants me there too. "Okay fine" I said "but you owe me!". "You're literally the best! Come on lets get ready!"
We arrived at the party already a bit tipsy as we got carried away drinking wine whilst we got ready. you could tell whoever owned this house had money as it was huge. straight away we went and got a drink from the kitchen. Evie poured the drink and I questioned her ratios as soon as the concoction met my lips as it was so strong but I decided that I was going to literally, and metaphorically 'let my hair down' for the night so I drank the drink and in no time I felt the alcohol go straight to my head.
Ben had come and introduced himself and had whisked Evie off to dance so I decided I'd go mingle. As I look around I see non other the Brummie boy from earlier and I decided to go over and say hi. "Well look who it is" he joked, "did you come to wish me happy birthday?". "Oh so you're the birthday boy" I giggled, "I am here with Evie, she's Bens girl". "It really is a small world" he winked. "Ty will be glad you're here" he teased, "he hasn't stopped talking about you since we left the shop". "Oh really?" I asked, genuinely surprised by this information. "Yeah, I think he's playing beer pong, lets go find him" he said dragging me through the crowd and outside to where there was a game of beer pong set up. "Hey Ty look who has come to play against you" he turned and as soon as he saw me a smirk spread across his face "well as long as she's okay with losing". "Actually I don't lose" I retaliated. As I picked up the small ball to begin the game "I'll go first".
The game lasted about 15 minutes, it came down to one cup each and to my annoyance, Ty coughed as I threw my ball distracting me and causing me to miss. He then threw the ball which landed effortless into the cup of alcohol which I downed like a pro. After everyone had gone back inside, me and Ty walked down to the end of the garden where there was a couple of seats, we sat down next to one another and I rested my head on his shoulder. "Its mad that you ended up here" he said "well you know what they say, you should be careful what you wish for" I said referring to his last comment before he left the shop earlier on today. "Im sorry if I was rude earlier, I just really really don't like people, I'm a plant person" I said sleepily. "I wouldn't say you were rude, I'd say you were feisty. And lucky for you, I like feisty".
