The plane began to fly straight towards the window. You began to panic, "what are you-" but before you could finish your sentence, you were on the other side.

Kylo Ren spoke slowly, almost like you were a child. "It's a force field, separating the hangar from space."

You were in space. You couldn't believe it. You jumped out of your seat and rushed up to the window. A smile grew on your face as you stared out at the stars.

"This is amazing. I can't believe it." Your smile stayed on your face as you looked over at Kylo, who was staring back at you, with the same blank stare you'd seen earlier.

"You don't smile much, do you?" Your eyes stayed locked on his.

He broke eye contact and turned to face the controls in front of him. You took a look too. Everything looks so futuristic.

"Sit down, we're going into hyperspace."

"What's that?" Your eyes stayed on him.

"The galaxy is a large place. It's how we travel from place to place in a short amount of time. This jump will only take a few minutes. Now sit down." The longer he explained, the more you felt his patience running short. He didn't even try to sound friendly during his last sentence.

You took your seat without protest. Kylo pulled down on a lever, causing the stars in front of you to streak closer. They turned into a blue blur as the lever made its way down. When he took his gloved hand off the lever, the window showed what looked like a blue cloud swirling around the ship.

Your trans in the blue cloud was interrupted when your chair was turned to face Kylo Ren. He didn't put a hand on it, it seemed to turn on its own.

You locked eyes once again. The better lighting told you that his eyes had a hazel color to them, not dark brown as you initially thought. This time, it was his turn to speak first.

"You want answers, and I will give them to you." His deep voice made you listen intently.

"We are in a galaxy far away from the place you call home. Our technology is more advanced than anything you could possibly imagine. I am the most powerful man in the galaxy." You thought he sounded a little too cocky, but stayed silent as he spoke, urging him to say more.

"But even with my great power, we're in danger. The First Order was made to bring peace, freedom, justice, and security to the galaxy. But a group known as The Resistance is threatening our vision. I've brought you here to help me end this war."

You were speechless at first, you were intimidated greatly by the man who sat in front of you. "How could I possibly help you win a war? I'm nothing special."

"You're more powerful than you think." You could feel your cheeks turn pink with his words. He paused as he thought. "Who are your parents?"

Your heart skipped a beat, then sunk as you heard those words leave his mouth. Every time your parents were brought up, you wished you could just disappear.

" I- I don't know." Your eyes traveled to the wall behind him.

His response was short and direct.
"Explain."

He'd find out sooner or later, so you decided now was as good a time as ever. You looked down at your hands as you told your story.

"I was found on the side of the road as a baby. With only a blanket with the first name 'Yvonne' stitched into it. My parents left me there. I was put into the foster system. I almost got adopted a few times, but it never happened. I was moved around houses until I was 18 and then I was on my own."

You started to shake your head at the thought of those awful times. "After living so close to people for the first 18 years of my life, I decided I wanted to live by myself for awhile. I always loved being outside, so I became a park ranger and lived in a little cabin in the woods. I was living there for about 3 years and then you came along." Realizing you were babbling, you summed up your story, "so yeah, I don't really have a family."

"That makes two of us." You looked up to see a slight change in his expression. His eyes seemed to burn with anger, but also something else. Sadness.

He looks so vulnerable. As the thoughts entered your head, both of your chairs suddenly turned towards the front of the ship to see the view of space coming back into sight. This time, a planet was in full view. It looked like it was covered in snow.

"What's this?" You asked.

"There are millions of habitable planets in the galaxy, and this is one of them. Crait."

"Crait." You echoed the word in fascination.
