fire burns through alexs veins. theres a pain in his chest that doesnt seem to ease up, no matter how many tablets he takes. his frail body hunches over the toilet bowl, droplets of either sweat, tears or sick falling in every now and again. he cant tell the difference anymore.
his eyes cant focus on anything, everything is twisting or shaking in one way or another.
james is by his side in seconds. theres a worried look in his eyes but alex doesnt notice this. hes too overwhelmed. a large hand is on his back, rubbing gentle circles while a soothing voice tells him that its all going to be alright. alex does notice this. he even notices the small smile on james' face when he asks him for a hug. of course, the bigger man complies.
alex doesnt notice the cold bathroom tiles underneath his legs. alex doesnt notice his shaking limbs.
all he notices is james.
