The large brass, arched sign read 'Melbourne Golden Circle cemetery'.

Perfect posture, plaid skirt. Cigarette held in the left hand. "Sherly, Sherly Holmes is that you?" I yelled from across the cemetery. She turned around and gave me a suspicious smile. "How are you mate?" she yelled back as she began to stride across the lawn.

"Not too bad mate, just returning home from.."

"Iraq, I presume?"

"That's correct, how have you been anyway? any new cases lately?"

Sherly glanced at the tall oak to the left, then back at me. "follow me". A cold breeze followed us as we walked towards the tree. As we orbited to the right, the situation became more apparent.

"The large shoe prints suggest that the event occurred after 7 am due to the heavy rain that fell last night" Sherly leaned in closer and pointed.

"This blood has become dry and based on the Channel 7 temperature reading the event must not have occurred within the last 3 hours."

I rolled up my sleeve. "My watch reads 11:15, so whoever has taken this young man's life must have done so between 7 and 8 am?" He couldn't have been more than 17.
