Kayleigh.
"Horge Dylan Rivelado, With High Honors."
I watched as Horge made his way to the stage, smiling confidently. I couldn't help but smile sadly. I am beyond proud of him. He's all-the-way to reach his dreams, a few steps ahead of a successful life. Without me.
Napatawa ako sa naisip.
Pinakiramdaman ko ang sarili ko. It sure is heavy in the chest.
Nasa tagong parte ako ng covered court kung saan ginanap ang event, sinigurado kong walang makakakita sakin dahil alam kong 'di niya magugustuhan kapag nalaman niyang pumunta ako at isang hangin lang ang hinihinga namin.
I smirked at the thought, he hates me that much.
Sighing loudly, I slowly walked out of the huge event.
Maybe I'll make this as a step of moving out of his pace.
I wouldn't ask for an apology because for some reason, he loathes my existence.
My existence.
Even my mom loathes my existence.
Shaking off the thoughts inside my little thought bubble, I heard a loud whistle from behind.
"Leeeeeiiiighhhh." Isang matinis na boses ng isang lalake ang bahagyang nagpasakit sa tenga ko.
My heart went haywire to the thought that someone has recognized me.
Humarap ako at sumalubong sa akin ang nakangiting si Jarryn. Basang basa ang pagkasabik mula sa mukha.
I am at the back of the event hall, the other exit. I wonder why is he here.
Walang katao-tao sa sulok na'to kaya dito ako dumaan.
Giving up, I slowly ran to him and gave him a hug.
"I missed you." Bulong niya sa akin. "We all do."
I chuckled and let go but he just pulled me closer to him ang hugged me tighter.
"Why did you leave, Leigh?" Nagtatampong saad niya.
Parang bata, as always.
"I have to."
Because of my response, he let me go and held both of my shoulders.
With a confused look, he asked me why.
"I just have to. Tsaka hoy, please don't tell anyone you saw me here."
With the look on his face, he was about to object. "I'll buy you a Jollibee meal."
Eyes lightened, and jaw dropped, he shook his head and said, "You think you can lure me with a meal?......
.... Siyempre payag ako jan."
I let out a soft chuckle and reached his head for a pat. He's a baby giant.
"Thank you, Ja. I have to go. Just give me your number tapos we'll set a date, 'kay?"
He pouted before giving me his phone, "Why are you treating me like a baby, I'm literally bigger than you."
"Because you are a baby. Ikaw lang ading ko dito, wag ka na magreklamo." I said after pinching his cheeks. Jarryn, is only younger than me by two weeks, but he has this big baby energy around him. He has a smile that's as bright as the sun, and a face of a god (I'm not even exaggerating.)
He then sighed and put up a stern expression on his face, indicating that he's serious on whatever he is about to say. "Why did you leave, Leigh? You dodge my question last time."
I knew he'll never let this go.
"Do you remember when I told you I'll contact you for a date? I won't stand you up, I promise, Ja. 'Wag dito."
Nodding his head, his silly little mouth formed a frown again, his eyes are starting to get misty. "Ano ba 'yan, pinapaiyak mo naman ako eh."
I chuckled at the sight, my soft baby.
