A Stark Party To Remember

It was yet another Stark party.

The whole party scene was nothing special to (Y/n) anymore, having been apart of the infamous  Avengers and knowing Tony used any excuse to throw one. Now it seemed every time after a mission or a succeed in a project or plain out just boredom, the team found themselves slipping back in their fancy button ups and dresses and dusting off their people skills. This party was supposedly a congratulations on yet another successful mission, but of course we can't forget the complications for it.

(Y/n) had stupidly, as Steve had said, ran in front of the Hulk with a bullet racing towards the green beast only for it to instead hit her in the shoulder. After a thankfully quick hospital trip and the doctor patching her up, she now stood at the snacks table with a drink in her right hair while the other was in a sling decorated to match her attire for the night, which was a pretty green dress that reached her knees with a dip in the fabric on the front. After pairing it with Natasha's black hills and a sparkly necklace Tony got her for her birthday, she easily matched the party scene. Even if it was a hassle to look this good.

But how lame did she look, a girl in a pretty dress simply standing at a table with snacks sipping at her drink of mostly melted ice. But she guessed that soon enough one of her teammates would come over demanding she dance or at least converse with people.

"Ah there she is! The one and only (Y/n)!" Tony's loud, drunken voice proved her theory correct as the man stumbled over to her. He clapped a hand on her good shoulder. "How ya feeling kid?"

The words hit her in a breathy voice that smelled of pure alcohol as (Y/n) expected.

But she had learned long ago to simply not pay attention to a drunk Tony, instead talking to him as if he were sober. "Nothing new Tones, standing around in a sling as everyone is drinking like the end of the world." She swirled the ice in her drink around almost to tell him, 'All except me.'

"Ugh you're starting to sound like the Capsicle." Tony wrinkled his nose, before shoving his own alcoholic drink towards her. "Have mine, it's way stronger than that sissy crap you got there."

"Tony I'm fine-"

"It's a party (Y/n)! Have some fun, you remember how to do that right?" He whined, almost stomping his foot. "You used to get wasted at these with me!"

(Y/n) slightly cringed at the memories of when she and Tony would always get smashed at these parties. One would always be challenging the other to drinking competitions or having an epic karaoke battle or simply laying on the ground in the corner about some kind of nonsense. But that was when (Y/n) was new to the team. When the only time she could cope with the problems of being a hero would be alcohol. But now she sort of matured, only getting a bit buzzed on a good day. Now she had a family to talk out her problems instead of drinking it out. But still, as embarrassing as it was, it was fun when she and Tony were drunk off their minds.

She opened her mouth to respond, say something clever that was sure to get him to lay off her, but instead the man simply gave her his drink and stumbled off calling for Pepper. (Y/n) gave the woman a small good luck in advance.

Looking down at the drink, she took a whiff of it, smelling the pure alcohol in it. That's why Tony was so drunk only an hour into the party. She thought it over a moment before deciding to not drink it, maybe another night but right now (Y/n) still had some dignity. But, thinking over Tony's words, she decided against just standing there sipping a drink, and instead go and find the other genius she calls a friend.

He had seemingly disappeared after (Y/n) saw him in the hospital room, but she guessed that he was busy over his project that had been managing to annoy him for the past few weeks. Bruce had been irritated as of lately was the least she could say, so once they had a mission where he could let it out Hulk was a bit too full of pent up rage. And even when he was in her hospital room all he could do was apologize profusely. And that was the last time she saw him that day.
