•"TACO BELL, TACO BELL, TACO BELL" They all collectively chanted as we entered a turquoise Jeep, owned by Chase that absolutely reeked of cologne.
Chase turned the car on and Blueberry Faygo started blaring from the speakers, the volume at an astronomical level.
I'm sorry sweet eardrums. You served me well.
How did these boys all just run out of the school, screaming, going straight for Chase's car, without communicating at all? Successfully too!
Chase drove horribly, Mason sat in the passenger seat, no seatbelt on and just held onto the roof. Dylan literally sat on the armrest in the front, arguing with Mason over shotgun. I sat in Jeremiah's lap after Elijah and Nathan argued about where I should sit.
Nathan argued I should sit in Elijah's lap because if we were to get in an accident, Elijah was strong so he'd hold me safely, but Elijah said he doesn't let any other girl sit in his lap beside his "angel Nevaeh". Jeremiah apparently had an injured leg so if I sat on it, it'd hurt but Jeremiah ended up silently putting me in his lap and wrapped the seatbelt around the both of us muttering, "There."
Keep in mind, all of this was going on while Chase was driving horrendously down a road, taking sharp turns at uncomfortably high speeds.
"Babe, you look scared." Jeremiah calmly said in my ear while the rest of them chanted the lyrics to Blueberry Faygo, which seemed to be on repeat.
I really didn't know what to say. Was he in the same vehicle as me? Only TWO people in the car were guaranteed safety and there were SEVEN people in the car.
"Yeah," I said, nearly whispering it out.
Maybe I normally said it, but I really couldn't tell. I couldn't hear my own voice.
Although I was terrified for my life, all the boys in the car looked so happy and carefree. It imprinted a warm feeling in my stomach. Next to the fear, of course.
I glanced at Nathan who was singing and dramatically bobbing his head, his hair being thrown around.
Cute.
We listened to the song two and a half times before Chase swerved into a Taco Bell parking lot and abruptly parked, causing all of us to fly forward. Mason and Dylan especially.
"Hey, guys. Don't break the windshield. Dad wasn't super thrilled when you cracked it last time." Chase said, after turning off the car and hopping out.
Jeez...
Mason threw himself out of the car and Dylan groaned, "I now remember why we don't usually let you drive."
Jeremiah unbuckled us and I carefully hopped out of his lap, careful not to hurt his leg.
A wave of exhaustion hit me when I stepped out of the car.
I've been really tired at random points recently...
"Did I hurt your leg?" I asked yawning.
