Chasing Ghosts

I wake up to darkness. I get up and let my bare feet touch the cold squeaky, cabin floor. I walk out the door to the outside dawn, and the cold breeze makes me shiver, and my white night gown flows with it. I start walking to the deep and dark forest in front of me. I don't seem to know where I am going, only knowing that each step I take into the forest is more dangerous than the last. I feel movements around me, only when I look, nothing seems to be there. This urge inside me sends me to start running. Then this is when I see dark, shadowy figures move in front of me. I want to stop running, but my body does not allow it. I blink, trying to make them disappear, make them stop messing with my head, but when my eyes open again, the shadows are still there and it only makes my fear grow stronger. This feeling stirring inside me, leads me to want to get these shadows and trap them. My running hasn't slowed down only increased. My hair blows in the wind, and my legs stretch farther at every stride. The forest is dark, which makes it harder to see where I am going to step. I am so close to this shadow now, I reach and try to grab it but instead I fall into this black hole, getting deeper and deeper, falling into non-existence. I can't scream, I can't move, I just have my eyes locked at that little bit of light from where I fell from. Then everything goes blank. I wake in the same cabin in the woods. I sit up from my bedroom bed in fear, for now I know what I was doing in my dream, I was chasing ghosts and I was not successful...
