IT WAS ALMOST the year 1966 in the matter of a few hours which to me was surprising. 1965 hadn't been what I would call a blast but it did help me learn reasonably a lot. One thing did happen that had been remarkable which was my friendship with the gang once again. I was appreciative that they had even considered being friends again with a soc'. But these last couple of days I hadn't been going around the Curtis House as the result of two reasons. One being that Soda had kissed me that morning and two being that Dally was an annoying prick who hated my guts. But today I had accepted their invitation to come over and celebrate New Year's. I never really celebrated New Year's anymore after we left the East Side but I was eager to be able to celebrate this year just like old times.

I was currently getting dressed to go over. It was a little late being 7:30 pm but I didn't want to go over too early because of the apparent awkwardness I knew was bound to occur between Soda and I.

"Are you positive you're not avoiding the gang because something bad happened?" Asked Hazel as she sat on the bed as I did my makeup by my vanity. As you can see I hadn't exactly revealed to her that Soda had kissed me that morning.

"Well, you cannot say anything especially to the rest of the gang." I told her turning to face her in my chair.

"I promise now tell me!" she cried out I sighed before looking her into the eyes.

"Soda kissed me the next morning we had spent the night on Christmas." I confessed which strikingly caused her to start jumping up and down. I gave her an odd look before returning to focus on my makeup.

"Sodapop kissed you! Are you nuts that's great. Any girl would kill to be in your position. So are you boyfriend and girlfriend yet?" She smiled coming up behind me. I set the makeup brush down and once again sighed. She was correct any girl around here would kill to kiss Sodapop Curtis.

"No, you got it all wrong Hazel. I don't believe I'm exactly into Soda like that." I explained hoping she would at least understand a bit.

"Did you kiss him back?"

"Yes."

"Well, then there must be something there. Who would kiss someone back if they didn't have any feelings for them?" I shrugged and went to the bathroom to change into tonight's outfit. I didn't know what to feel at all. Did I truly have any feelings for Soda or was I just a complicated mess. I was starting to lean towards the second explanation. I changed into a red top that was a little cropped, jean skirt, and finally some white leather boots. This time instead of my signature ponytail leaving my hair to flow loosely. My look had been a slight different tonight but I liked it and that's the only thing that matters.
