•Chapter 6< The Children of Water>
Nico! Nico get back here!" Lily yelled running after him. Nico sprinted through the woods dodging the tree limbs and roots. She held Silver Torrent in compact form in her hand. Her head pounding with every step of her high tops that hit the ground.
At the end of school a social worker had come up to her and Percy giving her the life insurance money and all the legal possessions of her parents. It was hard to sign the document and accept what she had lost but Percy helped her through it and so did nico. Percy used the mist to sign as her legal guardian and it was complete. Her parents money, house, car, and all other stocks and bank accounts were hers. They told her that a feral dog had murdered her family. She in responding said that the wild dog had chased her into homelessness. Or she at least that's what she thought was said, most of it was said in tears so the message was a muddle. Nico was her anchor. He had gone though some of the same things with his mortal family as she did and understood well. He helped talk to her as she silently received keys to her home and papers that would give her access to money and other things. The man told her that the ease of how things were transferred was unheard of. Lily had a feeling her mother had a hand in that.
But at the moment she was focused on Nico, she had to get him.
Nico made a wrong turn and was slowed down enough that she caught up to him. With a burst of speed she tackled him. They fell to the forest floor. She was on top of him, her knee at his neck.
"And you thought you could out run me?" Lily asked with laughter in her voice. Nico growled but couldn't keep the shadow of a smile off his face. As fast as she had tackled Nico she grabbed the Blue flag from his hands and raced the way she had come. Sprinting she went back to where she and Leo were on guard duty during the capture the flag game.
"Come on Lily! I was almost to the border!" Nico complained getting up slowly.
Lily smiled and passed a Hepheastian and ordered him to take Nico prisoner while she got the flag back to its place. The guy shook his head like he knew something she didn't and did as she was told.
"You got it back?" Leo asked surprised.
"Of course I did! Don't doubt me Leonardo," Lily said.
"I like that one too, like Leonardo De Caprio! Plus! I am just as handsome!" He said with a super model pose. Like groaned, another fail on finding a nick name that annoyed him. It was her mission to do so ever since she got back to camp. She went and stuck the flag in the ground where it had been before Nico took it. "Harvey," Leo said talking to his brother who was tugging on Nico, trying to take him to the designated "prisoners" spot.
"Yea?" Harvey replied.
"Give him to the Hecate girls, the are guarding the prisoners." Leo said.
Nico had gone silent and anyone could tell he disliked being touched. It was drastically different from how he was when Lily tackled him. A different person. Lily noticed it but it wasn't on the forefront of her mind. While Leo, who had known Nico while he was on the Argo II for a week or so, knew that he never treated anyone like that. No one. He shied away from people, he liked the shadows, and he didn't like talking. But he had changed. He wasn't as fickle and shadow like. He actually added comments here in there and he laughed when he was with Lily. And nothing had changed other than her. Could it be? Percy had told all of the seven Nico used to have a crush on him. But what did "used to" really mean? Did he decide he wasn't going to be gay anymore? Fore-mostly, did he have a crush on Lily? Leo was certain most everyone thought he had a crush on her but Lily herself. Leo was fine with this, but he hoped they would stay as friends.
