The next morning I woke up to the sound of rain lightly drizzling on top of the roof, I found the sound calming and was happy that the trees would have a much needed watering. Rolling over I was greeted by a full bed, Linds sleeping with her mouth wide open and Jax's arms draped around her body. My wolf was quiet, slightly envious of the display of affection the two were so easily able to share. Instead I directed my hands to my stomach were I could feel my belly beginning to feel bigger, I would be obviously showing by next week.
I headed for the bathroom, craving a nice hot shower to start my day. I took my time in the bathroom, using different moisturizers and lotions, even blow drying my hair out for the day. Settling on a romper I headed down the stairs following my sisters scent to find her and Jax singing in the kitchen making pancakes together. I was relieved they had made up and that there wasn't the added stressor of a grumpy Jax, boy can he get angsty.
"Linds gave me a rundown of what happened, I'm so sorry Scar" Jax gave me with a pitied look handing me a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
Linds turned looking up at the cup of coffee and exchanged it for the orange juice she held in her hand, "She will be fine Jax, she's onto bigger and better things there's so much to look forward to and prepare for, I'm so excited" she noted gleefully. "We have such a big house and we can turn the room besides Scars turned into a nursery for the pup and we can share a celebration with the pack... how lovely will it all be!"
"I can't stay here Linds" I told her softly. "I need a restart, I can't be this close to Xavier with the pup, it's too much of a risk of them getting hurt." Jax furrowed his brow and stood quietly behind his mate listening attentively.
"So you're leaving me behind?" she asked slamming her hand on the counter. Jax moved forward, touching the small of her back trying to comfort her. "It's always just been the two of us," she murmured her hand still on the counter, "is there anything I can do to convince you to stay". I shook my head with a sad smile, she nodded turning the radio to some pop2k radio station and started cutting up the strawberries again as if nothing had changed.
There was continued push back by Jax and Linds in the days to follow but my bump was beginning to show and I didn't want the word spreading throughout the pack. With help from Jax, I was able to meet with our Alpha and Luna. I had to share my story with them, including the pregnancy I wanted to be kept on the down low. I never mentioned his name or position in fear they wouldn't have let me leave, they agreed to a transfer. The luna helped me find a small pack that lived along the west coast with a prestigious local graduate program, using my scholarship money I would be able to rent a small place of my own while going to school. The luna was able to arrange a private check up for me where Linds and I were able to hear my babies heartbeat for the first time.
Linds and I shared the same bed every night that week, occasionally with the late night sneak in by Jax. They had worked on a couple rooms down the hallway as nurseries for when I visited with my pup which was demanded by Linds to be on every major holiday. I couldn't help but notice the glow my sister began giving off and on our last night together she confided in me that she thought she may be expecting as well. We laughed together through a tub of Jax's hidden stash of half baked, sugar crashing so fast we left the mess at the end of my bed and fell asleep soundly.
I was wrapped up in a large hoodie when I went to leave the next morning. Jax had piled a couple bags for me in the back of a small honda civic for me to take with me. While Linds and I cried uncontrollably holding eachother for the entire duration. Once I was packed up I gave my sister one last squeeze, kissing her cheeks I headed for the car. I was greeted with a large bear hug from Jax, "take care of my sister will ya" I said kissing his cheek as well. I promised I would stop every couple of hours as I made my way to the coast. Pulling out of the driveway I held in my tears as I watched my best friends grow smaller and smaller in my rearview mirror until there was nothing left to look back at.

Hi to anyone that has made it this far in the book! If you haven't realized I have named each chapter after a song. This will be a trend I carry throughout the book, the song will reflect the mood or attitude that the chapter carries. This is definitely a shorter chapter but the next few should be significantly more extensive.
If you could give the chapter a like or leave a comment somewhere so that I could see people were actually reading my work I would appreciate it.
Enjoy xxx
