"Just friends" ? chp. 1

A/N
For context to the story rigby's gay and mordecai has the idea but he hasn't come out to him yet. Rigby's fwb with Jeremy and goes to hook up with him once or twice a week. It's a human AU but it's not in the title while I'm writing this.

Mordecai POV

I'm apparently a light sleeper and was woken up at 3am by rigby coming home. I switch on the light and glare a him a bit.

"Dude what the hell its 3am where were you all night?"

"Oh did I wake you up sorry"

"Your evading my question where were you??"

"I don't have time for this man I gotta shower"  he shoved his sweatshirt off, on his bed and left for the bathroom.

"Ugh seriously what is up with him"  I propped my pillow up on the wall and sat up to wait for him. I reached for my phone and opened a random app to mess with til I can go back to sleep. After about 30 minutes rigby comes back in with a small towel around his neck and one around his waist, while rubbing his wet hair with the towel around his neck.

"What are you still doing up mordo?"

"Can't sleep"

He grabs a pair of boxers and basket ball shorts and goes back to the bathroom and comes back.

"You gonna tell me where you were now cuz I never got an answer"

"On a walk"

"Dude I don't believe that you didn't go on a walk at 3am and you don't need to take a shower after going on a walk"

"Mordecai just let it go I'm tired"

"Ugh fine we're talking about this in the morning"

He ignores me and rolled over in his bed facing away from me.

-time skip to 7am- (work starts at 8 just go with it)

Rigby POV

The alarm goes off and instead of fussing and getting up late I shut it off and go to the bathroom to get ready for the day.  I shaved the small hairs on my chin and  fixed my hair decently. Mordecai was still deep asleep so I changed into my work clothes, a long sleeved brown and black striped t-shirt and skinny jeans. I cleaned my piercings and put them back in my ears and face.

I go down stairs and put pop tarts in the toaster.

Mordecai comes down stairs and sees me dressed ready to for work waiting for my breakfast.

"What are you doing up"

"Oh I slept well so I got up on time" I shrug and stare at the toaster while Mordecai gets cereal. 

"Dude you got home at 3am how could you have slept well?"

"Ugh this again and I come home that late all the time this is just the first time you've woken up"

"What?? All the time what?? where are you going?"

"It's 7:30 man go shower or you'll be late"

"Ugh fine this isn't over"

"Psh whatever man" I roll my eyes and watch him go up the stairs.  My pop tarts pop up and I get a paper towel for them, grab them out and sit on the steps waiting for benson to show up and give us our jobs for the day. 

I hear Mordecai come down the stairs after 20 minutes.
