"What a total butthead! I can't believe he did that to you!!" Uraraka had her fists pulled in front of her with angry eyebrows arching on her forehead.

"Yeah! Doesn't he know when enough. is. enough?!" Ashido pounded the table with her palm to her last three words.

It was lunchtime with the sisterhood as usual. Todoroki ate at his own table again, and I didn't tell him anything about yesterday. We still weren't talking.

"Is this secret so important that you'd actually go on a date with that creep." It was more of a statement than a question coming from Jiro.

"Don't worry, [L/N]." Yaoyorozu wrapped her arms around my cold, soulless body as I lay my head on the table with dead eyes. "We'll hide in the shadows and follow you two in case you need an emergency extraction!"

"Th-thanks," I sputtered, still shaken up by the whole episode from the day before.

"It's kind of weird, though, don't you think, ribbit?" Asui placed a pondering finger on her chin and stared at the rest of us with wide eyes. "Why would he go through so much trouble to go on a date with [L/N]? Not to mention that he's got it out for everyone in 1-A. I heard he bothers the boys in our class, too."

I wheezed. "He just wants us to suffer..."

"EVERYONE! WE HAVE A CODE RED HE'S COMING OVER!!!" Hagakure burst out from behind some potted bushes, frantically waving her sleeves at us as she ran over. She generously offered to spy on the blond from afar to monitor his movements in case he decided to come and torment us today, which seemed to be the case now. "QUICK! TURTLE FORMATION, GIRLS! GO GO GO!!!"

There was an urgent sliding of chairs as the girls grabbed me and hid me underneath the table. They hurried back to their seats as Jiro and Yaoyorozu stood at the end of the table to block anyone from seeing me.

"If he tries to look under the table, we'll just scream and say that he's trying to look under Jiro's and Yaomomo's skirts! It's a foolproof plan..!" Uraraka whisper-yelled.

"Here he comes, ribbit. Get ready..!"

"Well, what do we have here?"

I didn't know how a voice could sound like a smirk, but if there was anyone who could manage that, it was him.

"Go away, Monoma! You keep ruining our lunch!" I heard Ashido yelling at him. From underneath the table, I saw that she even stood up and was probably shaking a fist at him, too.

Yaoyorozu and Jiro stood with defensive stances at the end of the table. I could see Monoma's shoes just beyond theirs.

"You know, a part of being a hero is helping people," Yaoyorozu sighed, "Not making their lives worse."

"Yeah, so if you're just here to antagonize us again, you can forget about it!" Jiro barked.

"First of all, I know that [L/N] is under the table, so if you think you can hide her from me, you're greatly mistaken." Monoma spoke with all the of hubris in the world. "Secondly, if you want to put it that way, I am a hero, and I'm more of one than the rest of you idiots." I could practically feel the girls rolling their eyes at his self-proclamation. "So if any of you have any hope of being heroes as well, then you would know to give [L/N] and me privacy on our date."

My eyes widened as I clung onto the center table leg. Wait... how did he know they were planning on following us?! How did he know what we were talking about??

"Ribbit..."

I could hear the rest of the girls grumbling in frustration and resentment.

"Why?!" Hagakure suddenly blurted. "Why do you keep bothering [L/N]? She's a genuinely nice person and doesn't deserve any of this! And she's trying really hard to train for the sports festival... so if you really liked [L/N], you'd be trying to help her, not blackmail her!"

"You're assuming that I like her?" he scoffed.

I knew it. He really did just want to make me suffer, along with anyone else I was associated with.

Monoma continued, "This is none of your business, so I suggest that you don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong."

"Oh, you're one to talk!" Jiro shot back.

"And this totally is our business!" Uraraka argued. "[L/N] is our friend and we care about her! So if someone like you is being mean to her, then of course we're gonna do something about it!!"

"Fighting villains didn't get enough attention for you, did it?" he retorted. "You also have to interfere with someone's private affairs? Sounds just like you 1-A idiots. Anyway, I only came here to let [L/N] know to wear something nice for our date, but I know she can hear me, so- auGH!"

I held my breath as I still clung onto the table leg, watching as Monoma's body fell limp to the ground when Kendo miraculously appeared.

"Sorry about that..! He really doesn't know when to quit it," the orange-haired girl grimaced. When she bent down to pick the blond up by his collar, she saw me crouching underneath the table. "Oh..!" We locked gazes for an awkward moment. "...Hi, [L/N]! What're you doing down there?"

"Uh-! Um... wow look at all of this gum under the table..! You wouldn't believe kids these days, right? H-haha..!" I panic-laughed as I quickly snatched a fallen chopstick on the ground and began scraping at the bottom of the table, even though there wasn't anything actually there.

"Wow, you're so helpful, [L/N]! That's really inspiring. Now I want to go and do something productive, too! Keep up the good work!" She gave me a grin and a thumbs-up before grabbing Monoma by the back of his uniform and rising back to her full height. "I'm gonna take this one back. Have a good rest of your lunch everyone!" And off she went with Monoma in tow.

By the time I had settled back in my chair and that whole fiasco was over, I sighed and hung my head in defeat.

"Don't worry, [L/N]!" Uraraka encouraged. "We won't abandon you!"

Hagakure plopped down next to me and laid an invisible hand on my shoulder. "Yeah! So what if he's onto us? He can't stop our undying support! You could always do the bathroom trick. If anything goes wrong, just call us and we'll be right there!!!"

"In a heartbeat!" Ashido added.

"Thanks everyone," I sobbed with rivers of misery cascading down my cheeks. "...You're the best."

A few tables away, Shoji crossed one of the three pairs of arms over his chest. "Yeah, I don't know. He keeps bumping into me during lunch, and it's becoming more frequent."

"Tell him to watch where he's going," Tokoyami said with his eyes closed and arms crossed. "It's likely that more of the other students will be coming after us with the sports festival coming up."

Little did any of us know that Monoma was being a sneaky son of a bitch and using Shoji's quirk to listen into our girl talk.
