"Hello?"
She took a deep breath and opened her mouth. But nothing came out. Her mind was screaming at her, telling her to tell him, just do it.
Her lips were quivering "X-xion" her sob broke out. Her heart was beating fast and she expected Xion to hang up on her because of how she was acting. She thought how foolish of her calling someone and cries.
But the name Xion was the only one coming up to her mind next to her parents. What if Xion was busy doing something and she bothered him with her cries? But to her surprise, Xion didn't hang up yet. Xion was silent on the other end.
Eri felt embarrassed on how Xion was just listening to her cries. "I- I'm sorry, I will hang-" she got cut of by Xion.
"No, no.. You don't have to.. Can you please tell me what happened?" Xion said in comforting tone. Eri was shaking, the phone in her hand was unsteady. She nodded and told him the incident with Jun.
"It was all an accident, I want to meet her and say sorry to her.. But I couldn't bring my face to her" Eri's said with tears streaming down.
Xion hummed and said "and you knew that this thing could avoid just by telling her the reason".
"Yes.." she looked at her feet, guilt lingers in her heart.
She heard Xion sighed and thought that he gave up on her, she panicked a bit on what was Xion's going to say next.
Then she heard him asking "are you okay feeling like this while being alone?"
Eri thought for a while and replied him with honesty "actually no. Usually Jun will come over or my parents will be there for me but they're not here."
Answering that made herself feel weak, was she always such a weak person?
Xion accidentally spilled out "want me to come over?" and mentally face-palmed himself.
Within a blink, Eri answered "yes" without thinking. Wait-
A few seconds of pure silence passed. Eri processed both of their words, realisation hit her.
"I- I mean, um.. You don't have to and I'm sure you're busy. You shouldn't waste your time on me! Haha" she said quickly and laughed nervously.
"I'm not busy and I think it's better for someone to be there with you just so you don't do anything stupid" Xion giggled.
"stupid? What do you mean- Xion?" she realised that the other end already hung up. "Do stupid thing?" She pouted at the thought, what could he possibly think?
But she knew she had something more important to take into matter than what Xion meant by doing something stupid. Is Xion really coming here?! But does he know her address?
She sat on the couch with her body tensed. Around 20 minutes have passed and Xion still haven't arrived. She was thinking that he might not come after all. She should be happy because she doesn't have to think about what to say once he arrived but she felt something else..
Dissapointment.
Why was she dissapointed? Ever since she met Xion, she's been getting these weird feeling. She fidgeted with her sleeves.
Suddenly her doorbell rang, she jumped of the couch and went to amswer the door. There he was, Son Dongju right infront of her and his right hand was holding a plastic bag.
Due to panic, she slammed the door infront of him. Realising what she have done, she quickly opened the door again.
"Oh god! I'm so sorry, Xion! I didn't mean to! I panicked, I thought you weren't coming and look here you are.. I am so sorry!" she apologised while bowing multiple times.
Xion chuckled and shook his head. "It's okay! It's fine! Really! I know you didn't mean it" he was also panicking on the inside.
Eri then let him inside and the air was awkward. That is until, someone's stomach growled. Xion giggled while Eri stood there, touching her stomach with her cheeks flushed in embarrassment.
"Thank god I brought some instant noodles for us while I'm on the way here" Xion smiled while holding up the plastic bag.
Eri opened her mouth then closed it. No words came out, she just grabbed Xion's arm and dragged him to the kitchen. Xion couldn't help but laugh at her and Eri thought that laugh was the most adorable laugh she ever heard. "Wait- What am I even thinking?!" she screamed internally.
While waiting for their noodles to boil, Xion started a conversation "what do you usually eat when your parents are away?".
Eri answered while watching her noodles, she was nervous to make eye contact with him "I order food or go to Jun's house or even go to the convenient store nearby".
Xion nodded and their noodles were done cooking. After they ate their lunch, they went to the living room and sat on the sofa side by side. The television was turned on and they were watching a disney movie.
Eri sighed and looked at Xion "I just wanna say.. Thanks for coming, even though it was kinda awkward but I'm glad you're here"
Xion looked back at Eri and he grinned "you're welcome, I'm happy I got to make you feel better".
The awkwardness between them soon faded, they were now in a comfortable silence and soon Eri was getting tired. She yawned and unintentionally rested her head on Xion's shoulder. Xion jumped a bit and Eri quickly sat up, asking if he was okay.
Xion nodded with his face red, he doesn't act like this around girls but Eri was an exception. She was the only one that could make him feel this way. "What is this feeling?" He questioned himself.
Eri suddenly heard her phone buzzed and checked it. There was a message from Keonhee "Hey, Jun already reached home. You should meet her to clear the air between you two, okay :3"
The guilt came back to Eri as the memory played and she furrowed her eyebrows. Xion noticed Eri was frowning. He then took a peek at her phone and saw the text. He stood up and grabbed Eri's hand, pulling her up.
"Xion?" Eri asked.
Xion then smiled "go and meet her".
"B-but what if she doesn't want to see me.." Eri gripped on Xion's arm, her voice cracked.
Xion then pulled her into a hug and patted her head "even Keonhee wanted you to meet her, I'm sure Jun wants to see you too and she will forgive you"
Eri returned the hug "I- I guess you're right.. Thanks for everything, Xion".
Both of them stayed like that for a while with both of their hearts beating like crazy. But there was something Xion wanted to ask, he then thought to do it another time.
...
Eri stood infront of Jun's house. She was hesitating to ring the doorbell, she then took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.
After a while, the door opened and revealed Jun's mother. She greeted Eri with her usual heart-warming smile.
"Welcome Eri! You must wanted to see Jun.. Don't worry, I know this was all an accident. Jun is in her room, alright" She ruffled Eri's hair.
"Thank you, Mrs. Kim" Eri bowed and went upstairs, stopped infront of Jun's room. It will be an understatement if she wasn't nervous. Once her nerves calmed down, she knocked on the door.
"Come in"
