CHAPTER 26

Brie's POV:

Narito na kami ngayon sa tapat nang bahay namin. Binuksan niya ito at bumungad samin ang mukha nang mga magulang ko.

Napatakbo ako papunta sa kanila saka buong puso silang yinakap. Napahikbi na lamang ako sa mga nangyayari sa buhay namin.

"Are you okay, Brie?"

Umiling lang ako bilang sagot sa tanong ni mama.

"I'm sorry, Brie. If we only tell already about our family secrets then, maybe we oppose this havoc. I'm sorry I failed being your father"

"No, it's not your fault. Kung mayroon lang saan akong magagawa. I'm sorry po, ma, pa, toni. I'm failed doing my duty as your child"

"No. Don't blame ourselves now, Hon, Brie. Since this is the right time to talk about this" Yun na ang hudyat upang  magseryoso kaming lahat.

"My father, your lolo. Owned this illegal transaction for drugs exportation around the world. He like at first this thing but as he wonders to our world. He noticed something and that is our world getting cruel because of the drugs he owned. Habang nagdadaan ang araw he realized to shutdown the illegal transaction. Syempre marami ang sumalungat sa gusto niya kaya sila nag - alsa sa lolo mo. Death treats is bound to his way until our family involved. My father didn't take their treats instead he he forcefully shutdown by himself. Marami ang nagalit sa kaniya. Hanggang sa gumawa na sila nang dahilan para mawala sa landas nila ang lolo mo, Brie" mahabang paliwanag ni papa pero nakukulangan pa ako. Sigurado akong may iba pa.

"Yun ba yun nung araw na pinatay siya na nadoon ako?" My parents remain silent but I didn't expect that my brother knows it already.
"You know about it?"

Tumango siya sa sakin as I get the answer in my head.

"But why did he kill the late Baranggay Captain Sacramento?"

Nananatili kaming nasa ganung posisyon sa sofa nang matandaan ko si Diego.

"By the way, ma, pa. Si Diego... My boyfriend. Diego, they are my parents. He is a child of the late Baranggay Captain Sacramento. I bet you know him"

Matalim lang siya tinignan ni papa bago nakipag - kamay. Malugod na naman siyang ngitian ni mama bago halikan sa pisngi. Tinapik lang siya ni Toni saka ako tinignan.

"Welcome to our family, Diego" she said to my boyfriend

"His father crossed his line to your grandpa, Brie. It's not only about the position because his father knows the illegal transaction of him. Your father says his side but he didn't hear any of it. It's a no choice situation. I'm sorry Diego" napatulala nalang ako sa mga nalaman ko. All this long, it still our fault.

Gusto ko sana siyang hawakan pero nag - aalangan ako sa magiging reaksiyon niya.

"Huh? No choice situation? How could you say that? Napakawalang puso niyo talaga" nagsisigaw na siya kaya hindi ko muna siya nilapitan. Though, nasa likod ko lang siya.

"I know it was a very bad move. My father only did that to protect our family" matigas man ang pagkakasabi ni papa. Nararamdaman kong malungkot siya dahil sa nangyari.

"Protect your family. Paano naman ang pamilya namin? Kami na lang ba ang maghihirap habang nagsasaya naman kayo!" Puno nang galit ang boses niya habang nagsasalita kay papa. I can't blame him for that. My family should face his anger.

"I'm sorry, for you and for your mother. I hope you forgive us, Diego" malumanay na paumanhin ni mama.

He just let a deep sighed to control his anger as he wants to respect my parents. Few minutes passed, I face him and enclosed our hands.

"I'm sorry for what they did to your father. I hope you accept our apologies" I know he understands me even he don't accept our apology I still do my best to say our apologize.

"I'm sorry for my sudden act, Brie. Sorry rin po sa naging pagtaas ng boses ko. Hindi ko pa po matatanggap ang paghingi niyo ng tawad. Hayaan niyo po sana akong bigyan ng panahon para matanggap ko ang mga nangyari"

Tumango naman sila mama at hinawakan ang kamay ko. Hinaplos ko ang mukha niya and mouthed 'thank you'

"Anyway, Sis,your childhood contacted us. After we known that you came back, we immediately came here. Are those guys hurt you?"

Tumango ako dahil wala naman patutunguhan kong magsisinungaling rin ako. Napakuyom nang kamay si Diego.

"Don't worry I'm completely healed now. Prime take care of me"

Diego tsked as if I don't heard it.

"Anyway, I think we should get out of here. This place is not safe"

Tumango kami sa isa't-isa bago sila mama dali-daling kumuha ng mga  gamit sa loob pa nang kuwarto nila.

Nakabalik naman agad sila. I stunned me after I heard what my brother said.

"They are here!"

I got a goosebumps and they were panicking. I easily get inside to our BMW i8 car as Diego help me safely.

My parents are also inside as my father starts the engine. I roamed my sight but my brother is not here.

"Wait! Where's Toni?"

"Oh my God!"

"Fuck!" My father hissed extremely and leave the car.

Seconds after, he's back together with my brother. They both get inside and drive.

"Oh my God, where did you go? I almost passed out" my mother exclaimed to my brother besides me.

"I tried to change their path but I failed. They easily put bug to my phone and set a timer for a bomb. They have a great security. I don't have any gadgets right now to trace them" alam kong frustrated na kaming lahat sa nangyayari. Kailangan naming makaalis rito.

"Hey, sila ba yun?" Sa sinabi nang kapatid ko agad akong tumingin sa likod.

Mayroong humahabol sa kotse namin na apat na itim na van. Nakita ko na naman ang kotseng yun.

Sigurado akong nasa loob nun ang kaaway ni Lolo.

'I'm sure sila na yun'

I should not panick. I feel someone squeezed my hand. It was him, Diego.

Worry is his face as he looking at me. I feel at ease as I look at him. He kissed my forehead and nod then mouthed 'everything will be fine'

Our car bumped to something. I felt my gazed went warry and close after went into deep sleep.
