Knock. Knock.

"Cami? What are you doing here?" Madelaine asks opening her front door and stepping aside, letting her friend inside her house.
"Are you okay?" The redhead queries when she notices the tear stained cheeks of her Riverdale costar.

Camila sniffles and wipes her nose with the cuff of her sweater sleeve. She looks to the ground as if to hide her teary face from Madelaine, even though she had already seen the dried tears on her cheeks.
"Um, no not really. Charles broke up with me" Cami answered as she looked up to Madelaine.

Madelaine dragged her towards the living room and sat them both on the couch.
"What do you mean, Cami?" Madelaine asks gripping Camila's hand in support as she prepared to listen and comfort her best friend.

"H-he just ended it, out of nowhere. He came home this afternoon after he went out with the boys and told me he wanted to talk, I assumed it was just about work, but instead he was breaking up with me." Camila sobbed. Madelaine pulled her across the couch so that Cami was laying in her arms.

Camila lay sobbing while Madelaine rocked her in her arms and eased her into a calm state. When Cami's breaths returned to normal and she had calmed herself down, Madelaine turned on Netflix to Brooklyn Nine-Nine; the comedy was the girls' favourite show to watch together.

--

"Are you hungry?" Madelaine asks, "I can get you something?" She questions, glancing back to Camila who was sat in the corner of the L-shaped couch in the centre of the living room.

"No thank you, I'm not very hungry" Camila Answers, peering over the back of the couch, a soft smile painted on her face. Madelaine politely smiles back to Camila, understanding her loss of appetite, and grabs herself a snack, heading back over to Camila on the couch.

Madelaine sets herself back down on the couch next to Camila, patting the empty space next to her, she gestures for Cami to snuggle up with her. Camila happily accepts her offer and cuddles up next to Madelaine.

Grabbing the blanket that is draped over the back of the couch, Madelaine throws it over the pair as they settle into watching their favourite show.

--

A few hours had passed and it was now 10pm. Cami had fallen asleep on Madelaine while they were watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Madelaine turned the tv off and cleaned the living room of the dishes and clutter from the day before heading to Vanessa's bedroom upstairs.

In Vanessa's room, Madelaine made the bed for Cami to sleep in, placed a glass of water on the nightstand and set out a pair of pyjamas from Vanessa's drawer. The redhead was sure that her friend wouldn't mind as she was staying at her boyfriend's house for the night.

Once the room was set Madelaine trotted back down the stairs and into the living room where she gently woke Cami.
"Cami, come on. You can't sleep on the couch." Cami stirred for a while but eventually woke up and followed Madelaine upstairs and into Vanessa's bedroom.

"I got some pyjamas and made the bed for you to stay in tonight, there's also a glass of water on the nightstand. Sorry if the pyjamas are a little tight; they're Vanessa's" Madelaine explained as she handed Camila the pyjamas.

Cami giggled and took the pyjamas from Madelaine.
"I'm sure they'll fit just fine, Mads. Thank you"

"Okay, well I'm just right across the hall if you need anything. Goodnight" Madelaine says and kisses Cami's cheek before walking out and into her own room. Cami threw Vanessa's pyjamas on and took a sip of water before taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

It didn't feel right in that room--she didn't feel right in that room-- she couldn't sleep alone, not that night anyway. So she got up and walked out into the hall, closing the door behind her and trotting across the hall to Madelaine's room and knocking on the door softly.

"Mads?" Cami said in a soft, shy voice as she pushed the door open slightly to reveal Madelaine sitting up in her bed.
"Cami, what's up?" Mads asks squinting as the light from the hall shines through and into her bedroom.
"Oh nothing, I just was wondering if I could sleep with you in your bed. It'd make me feel a lot better" The short girl asked, playing with her hands as she was sure that Madelaine would find her request weird. Instead Mads replied with a simple word.

"Sure!" Mads responded, pulling the covers back gesturing for Camila to climb in next to her.
"Jump in" Madelaine patted the empty space next to her and pulled the covers back over the both of them once Cami was in the bed.

Madelaine opened her arms wide and Cami snuggled right up into them, causing the girls to be joined at the hips.
"Thank you for letting me stay over tonight, I love you" Cami says to Mads as she lays her head down onto her chest.
"Of course. I love you too, now get some sleep" Madelaine says lowering her head down onto her pillow and drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
