I Love You Three Thousand

Just btw, this one-shot is written by my friend, GeneralPenguini4213! She is the author of the Wings of Fire AU, some of the stories in the Valentine's Day One-Shots , and co-author (along with Dabookywonder  and SoldierOfLoki , and of course myself) of the Truth or Dare Crossover-HP, PJO, Marvel, LunarChronicles, HTTYD, WaterfireSaga. "Eve! Eve Eve Eve Eve Eve!!!!" Zoe shouts running up behind the long-haired girl and practically knocking her over as she throws her arms around her shoulders."Ah! What, Zoe?" Eve laughs, spinning around to lessen the momentum."What are you asking for? This is a historic day!" Zoe exclaims."What's going on today?" Eve asks. Zoe gasps, "You mean you really don't know what day it is?"Eve gasps, covering her mouth with her hands, "Oh my God... was today some sort of anniversary? I-I didn't know, I'm so sorry, this seems really important to you-"Zoe laughs, kissing Eve's cheek, "Stop worrying. No stupid anniversaries. Today is the day Avengers Endgame comes out in theaters! And I bought us tickets! For 5:30 p.m.!""Avengers Endgame? Is that- uh, something I'm supposed to know about?" Eve asks nervously."You seriously have never heard of it? At all?" Zoe raises her eyebrows in shock. Eve shakes her head shyly. "It's the newest Marvel movie!" Zoe exclaims."Marvel?" Eve asks. Zoe taps her foot on the ground, thinking. "Ok. Eve, we have approximately 9 and a half hours before we have to head to the movie. You get the snacks, I'll get the blankets and set up the movie, meet me on the couch in under 5 minutes. Ready... go!" Zoe runs off to the couch. Eve stands still for a few seconds, bewildered, before she shrugs and goes into the kitchen. She grabs a party-size bag of Cheetos(because she knows Zoe loves them), some carrots and ranch dip, a family-size bag of potato chips, and some Smartfood. She heads back to the living room, placing the snacks on the table as Zoe spreads a blanket for her. She sits down next to her, and Zoe turns to her with a very serious expression. "Alright, here's the game plan: We're starting with Captain Marvel, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and finally Avengers: Infinity War. If there's anything that needs to be explained, we'll stop for about a minute in between movies so I can explain. Bathroom's over there, try and limit bathroom breaks to less than 1 per movie. Got it?" Eve nods quickly, overwhelmed."Good. Let's go!" Zoe presses play and the Marvel theme and intro starts up. Zoe grabs Eve's arm in excitement, who smiles hesitatingly. As they continue to watch the movie, Eve begins to be entranced. Zoe glances over at her about halfway through, only to see Eve staring intently at the screen. Zoe can't help but smile at her girlfriend's adorable expression. When Eve suddenly bursts out laughing, Zoe nearly spills the popcorn all over the couch. Eve doesn't even notice, still staring at the movie. By the time they get to Guardians of the Galaxy, Zoe and Eve have each taken one bathroom break, and finished off the bag of potato chips. Zoe stretches, yawning and says, "Ok. Next movie." As the movie starts, Eve asks, "So, this one has a talking raccoon in it?"Zoe shrugs and nods, smiling as Eve jumps up in excitement. Zoe presses start, then quickly checks her phone. 12:45. She sighs, they have plenty of time. About halfway through the movie, Zoe and Eve both reach into the bag of Smartfood. When their hands brush together, Eve blushes a little and pulls her hand out of the bag. Zoe presses her lips together, takes out a handful of popcorn, then turns to her still-flushed girlfriend."Hold out your hands," she says, and Eve does so, confused. However, her confused frown turns to a smile as she laughs when Zoe dumps popcorn into her hands. She shoves some in her mouth and smiles at her girlfriend. Zoe smiles back, and stuffs a handful of popcorn into her own mouth. They're both startled out of their eye lock when a very loud explosion occurs on the TV. Zoe laughs again, and Eve giggles.Zoe sighs as they finish the movie, "Are you ready for this?" She asks Eve."Ready for what?" Eve asks."Infinity War. Officially the most depressing Marvel movie ever made."Eve's eyes widen slightly, as she asks, "Is it that bad?"Zoe shakes her head, "I can't lie to you, it is."Eve looks down, processing. Eventually she looks back up at Zoe, and smiles a little, "Well, I'm gonna see the next one right after. So, I should probably be fine."Zoe nods, and hesitatingly smiles back, "Alright then. Here we go!"She presses play, and snuggles up close to Eve as the intro music plays. During the scene on Vormir, she looks up to see a steady trail of tears streaming down Eve's face. Zoe wraps her arms around her girlfriend's shoulders as Eve continues to cry. They stay in that position for the remainder of the movie, and by the time it's over, Zoe is crying as well. Zoe hiccups and stuffs Cheetos in her mouth, wanting to wipe the tears off Eve's face, realizing too late that her girlfriend probably wouldn't want Cheeto dust all over her face. Eve follows Zoe's example and stuffs food in her mouth. About a minute later, the girls have mostly stopped crying, except for a couple of sniffles. Zoe is about to ask Eve if she's ready to go watch the next movie, when Zoe's mom walks in and asks, "You girls ready for me to drive you to the movie?"Zoe nods and stands up, "Yeah, just give us two minutes.""Alright, but be quick. You only have 20 minutes until your movie starts." Zoe's mom leaves, and Eve gets up off the couch to stand next to Zoe, stretching and yawning."Alright. I'll clean up here, you mind taking the snacks back to the kitchen?" Zoe asks.Eve nods, "Alright. Meet you out front."Zoe smiles, "Whoever gets there first gets to choose what kind of candy we get. Ready... go!"Zoe and Eve both rush to complete their tasks, Zoe straightening pillows and blankets, sweeping snack crumbs onto the floor, thinking that she'll get them later. She then turns off the TV, takes out the disc, and puts it in its case before putting her shoes on as she scrambled out the door. Eve is already out the door, having thrown away the empty chip bag, and put away all the rest of the snacks. She's rushing towards the car, long hair streaming behind her. Zoe launches herself out the door, feet pounding on the grass as she runs. Eve slaps her hand on the car door a split second before Zoe, both girls breathing heavily."Damn it." Zoe curses.Eve laughs, "Junior Mints it is.""What? Are you kidding me?""Aw, we'll get gummy bears too." Zoe sighs in relief as they get in the car."You girls have money, right?" Zoe's mom asks.Zoe's eyes widen for a second before she groans, "No, I forgot."Eve laughs and holds up some cash, "Don't worry, I've got money. Now, let's go see that movie!"The short, 10-minute drive to the movie theater was pretty uneventful, mostly Zoe and Eve discussing what they thought would happen in the upcoming movie. By the time they get to the cinema, both girls are brimming with excitement."Thanks, mom!" Zoe hugs her mother as she gets out of the car."So, you'll text me when you want me to pick you up?" She asks."Yup," Zoe answers, "We're gonna watch the movie, then pick up dinner someplace. We should be done around 8:30.""Ok. See you then, sweetie. Have fun!""I will. Bye mom!" Zoe waves as the car drives away, then turns back to Eve. As they walk into the movie theater, Eve offers to get the snacks. Zoe nods, "Ok. Want me to go save our seats while you do that?" "Sure." Eve responds as she walks over to the snack vendor."One box of Junior Mints, two bags of gummy bears, and... one bag of Swedish Fish." Eve orders, placing the 15 dollars on the counter."Thanks," she calls as she walks away with the candy.She puts all the snacks in her bag, and heads over to the popcorn stand next. She's slightly startled when Zoe walks up behind her, but thankfully manages not to spill their large popcorn. Zoe laughs, "Sorry, Eve.""No, it's fine. Would you mind carrying this?"Zoe pecks her girlfriend on the cheek, "Sure."The couple walked into theater number three, the ads and trailers already playing. "You ready for this?" Zoe asks, as they sit down, and Eve nods, smiling."I'm so excited!""Me too! Now you see what I was going on about this morning, right?""Definitely! I-""Shhh... the lights are dimming." Zoe whispers.Eve grips Zoe's hand in excitement."Oh! I almost forgot," Eve rummages around in her bag until she finds the Swedish Fish, which she takes out and hands to Zoe, "I got you these.""Yay! I love Swedish Fish!" Zoe exclaims."Shhh!" Eve teases.They both laugh, but abruptly stop when they realize the movie is actually starting. They're almost too busy to eat their snacks, between laughing so hard they can barely breathe, cheering excitedly, and of course crying. A few hours later, the two girls walk out of the building, in a comfortable silence as they both finish off their candy. The popcorn was devoured during the high-stakes fighting scenes. "So-" Zoe starts, mouth full of gummy bears, "Where do you want to eat?""Hm... I'm kind of in the mood for-" Eve pauses as a drop of rain lands on her hand, "Italian food."Eve squeaks as it starts raining buckets. Zoe laughs and spreads her arms to the sky. Eve puts her hands over her head to try and protect herself from the rain. However, that doesn't last long as Zoe grabs her girlfriend's hands and spins her around. They both laugh, both opening their mouths to try and catch rain. Zoe sticks her tongue out and nearly trips over a flower bed. Eve collapses with laughter, but pays for her mocking when Zoe kicks water from a puddle all over her. Eve gasps, startled, before she chases after Zoe, throwing water at her girlfriend as they run through the parking lot. Finally Zoe stops in front of a nice-looking Italian restaurant. "This look good?" She asks as Eve comes to a stop next to her. Eve grins, "Perfect."The two girls walk into the restaurant, but Eve stops Zoe from opening the next door so she can sit at one of the benches and wring her hair out. Zoe sits down next to her and laughs at their ridiculousness, "That was fun, wasn't it?"Eve smiles, "Totally. Just what I needed to cheer me up."Zoe grins and rests her head on Eve's shoulder, "I knew I'd get you hooked on Marvel movies.""Well, they are amazing.""And those are only the ones I had time to show you! There's also Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Thor the Dark World which is super boring, but still, Thor Ragnarok which is way better, Spider Man Homecoming, the Incredible Hulk, that one's not as good but still worth watching-""Okay, okay, Zoe, I get it," Eve smiles, putting a hand on Zoe's arm, "We're going to have so much fun watching them all together."Zoe squeezes Eve's hands in excitement while smiling broadly,"You know, I love you three thousand.""Aw, dammit, Zoe, now I'm gonna cry again," Eve giggles, "I love you three thousand too."Eve then stands up, offering her arm to Zoe, "Shall we dine together, my darling?""That we shall, mademoiselle." Zoe responds, giggling. She links her arm through her girlfriend's as they walk into the perfect dinner.
