A/N: Hello dear readers! Sorry the chapters in this story will not be as long as my  r e s t a r t story but I will try to be updating this often as an apology of how long it takes for me to write chapters for my  r e s t a r t  story. Also the prologue is most likely going to be longer the chapters that will come after it. Anyways, on with the prologue!

"Lily he's here!" a male voice shouted, "Take Harry and Jacob while I hold ho-"

The man was cut off by a red curse, his body fell to the floor as the tall pale figure known as Voldemort, stepped into the house. It stepped over the man's limp body and proceeded to the rest of the house, following the sounds of footsteps and baby cries.

As to why Voldemort only stunned the father was because one of his most trusted followers, Severus, had begged for him to spare the father. It had come as a slight shock to him as Severus was pleading and getting down onto his knees. Severus was a follower who rarely ever asked for anything and followed orders without question, which was why Voldemort had so much trust in Severus. But to hear the man begging, not for himself, but for another, was astounding. He felt pity, he had made up his mind, thinking that if he spared the father Severus' loyalty would be secured for all eternity. The memory of the usually unquestioning man came into his head.

"My Lord," Severus' voice was hollow, "I beg you of this, please, spare James Potter."

Voldemort turned around to see Severus on his knees with tears streaming down his face. They were barely noticeable as Severus face was looking down at the floor.  Voldemort's brief flash of surprise on his face was immediately covered up.

"I only ask this one thing of you my lord..."

One could hear the sadness in his voice as he spoke. The surrealness of it all made it almost as if it were just some strange dream. But he knew better that this was no dream and this was in fact, real as can be.

He quickly made up his mind and spoke very low, "You will see in due time of what I will do."

Voldemort of course, had already decided to spare James on behalf of Severus, but did not want to show weakness to anybody. If someone found a weakness they would naturally, use it to their advantage.

Voldemort rid his mind of the memory and continued his mission to destroy the one prophesied to kill him. He easily found the woman and her two children as one of them was wailing louder than a banshee. The woman named Lily was trying to calm down her child while the other child was staring curiously at the dark lord. Lily seemed to have realised she was standing in a room with the most powerful dark wizard in over a century and attempted to look for ways to escape. Voldemort easily stunned the woman as it would be strange for James to be alive while Lily wasn't.

Lily crumpled to the floor as her children desperately tried to wake up their unconscious mother. Well, one of them, as the other was too busy crying. Voldemort took this time to try to figure out which child was the one destined to destroy him.

Concentrating, Voldemort took in the waves of magic around him. The wailing child was a boy with flaming red hair and chocolate brown eyes with not many distinguishing features. The magic emitting from him was the average amount for a child of his age. He then turned his concentration towards the other child. A small boy with jet black hair and green eyes that resembled the colour of the killing curse.

The magic around the small boy was very little when Voldemort suddenly felt a rush of magic coming from him that stopped abruptly. He realised the boy was performing accidental magic and was masking his magic. It was a good mask but there were cracks that showed the true power of the boy.
