Long Time No See

Chapter 22

(About 3 hours later)

The group of hedgehogs has finished eating dinner and were now getting ready for bed.
Shadow was in his room changing his clothes while Sonic did the same in his room.

Shadow had changed into a mint green tank top and purple pj pants. As he was getting his bed ready, he couldn't stop thinking about his kiss with Sonic. He felt his heart starting to race once more. 'So what if I really like Sonic? Am I really ready to be in another relationship? I know he won't treat me like Scourge did but....I just don't know.' He thought.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door.

"Yes?" Shadow spoke.

"It's me." Sonic's voice echoed through the door.

Shadow walked to the door and opened it.

"I was just wondering if you had gone to bed yet." Sonic spoke.

"I was about to, why?" Shadow asked.

"Well, I kind of wanted to talk about earlier. You know..." Sonic blushed.

Shadow realized what he was talking about and blushed as well. "Okay, come in." Shadow said stepping aside.

Sonic walked in and closed the door, not realizing he left it cracked open a little.

The two hedgehogs sat on the bed next to each other. Both of them felt awkward about what had happened and even more awkward talking about it.

"So, I guess where I should start is with I'm sorry." Sonic spoke.

"Sorry? For what?" Shadow asked with a confused face.

"For not asking you if it was okay to kiss you. What you said meant a lot to me and I was in the moment and before I knew it, I was kissing you." Sonic explained.

"Sonic I-"

"Shadow, I know that you've been through so much these last few months and I promise I would never hurt you or break your trust in anyway. But I've had feelings for you for the longest time and I guess those feelings got the best of me. I really didn't mean to-"

Shadow kissed Sonic one his lips and placed a hand on Sonic's cheek.

Sonic's eyes widened at first but then kissed him back.

After the two hedgehogs shared a moment of their passion, they broke the kiss.

"Shadow, I thought that you weren't-"

"Ready for a relationship? To be honest with you, I'm not sure I completely am. But when I'm with you, I'm heart begins to race and I feel happy. I realized that you're the one I want to be with." Shadow finished.

Sonic felt his face light up with happiness. "You're the one I want to be with too." He spoke as he wrapped his arms around Shadow's waist. "I love you Shadow."

"I love you too Sonic." Shadow said as he wrapped his arms around Sonic's neck.

They grew closer and closer until there lips finally touched once more.

"Just wanted to wish you a goodnight Shad-" Jules didn't finish his sentence as he stared at the now separated lovers. Bernadette was staring shocked at the two.

The two hedgehogs knew this wasn't gonna be easy to explain.
