!!IT ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER!!
I wake up in a pitch-black box that is moving steadily upwards, and I have no memories. The boys in the glade all seem to have a thing for me but I'm only interested in one of them. That is until a certain blonde boy arr...
That's the first thing I think as I climb out of bed. I had built a bed because my hammock -although comfy- wasn't the best for long term sleeping. I had hung it outside in between two trees, and I lay in it sometimes.
I pull off the oversized T-Shirt I use for sleeping -it's one of Minho's that he's given to me- and dress in shorts and a T-Shirt as it's pretty hot. I debate putting on my sneakers, but because I'll be working in the Gardens, I decide against it.
I pick up my bow from where it lays on the table and run my hands over the smooth wood. I finally finished putting it together the night before, and I admire my work.

The handle fits perfectly in my hand, and I've wrapped it in leather to give me some grip. From tip to tip of the limbs the bow is 1.5 meters long, perfect for my draw length.
Even though I haven't shot it yet, I know that it will work, and work well. I've handcrafted it from scratch, so I know every part of it off by heart, and I know its perfect. I don't dare pull it back yet though, because I want the glue to have completely dried before I try anything.
I hesitate, not sure whether to leave the bow on the table and risk people finding it, or put it under my bed where dust might dry in the seams. I have an idea and run outside, the bow still in my hand.
I run to the wall closest to my hut, and find an open space where I lay the bow down in the shade. Maybe getting some time outside in the fresh air and sun will be good for it, I think as I turn in a circle, memorising this spot and how I got here.
Then I turn and run back through the dewy grass, passing by my hut and heading straight to the Mess Hall for breakfast.
I'm up a lot earlier than all the other Gladers, and the only people in the Mess Hall are Frypan and a few of the Runners. "Hey guys" I greet them, and they turn to me with smiles on their faces.
"Hey Greenie," Ben says and I laugh. "Better get that nickname out of your systems because there'll be a new Greenie today."
He fake scowls and goes back to his bacon and toast. I turn to get my own breakfast when strong arms wrap around me. "Hey shank," Minho whispers, before blowing hard into my ear.
I squeal and wriggle, trying to get free. He laughs and releases me, and I turn on him, blowing a strand of hair out of my eyes and punching him not too gently on the shoulder.
He winces, "That's a bit harsh, isn't it?"
"Not really," I reply, and he laughs, joining me at the table of food.
I grab two slices of warm toast and coat them in butter, pocket an apple and head back to the table where Ben and the other Runners are talking softly. I slide onto the bench next to a boy I know as Dan, and he gives me a quick smile before returning to his conversation.
