Did I hear her right? Did Bethany actually say she liked me? I'm shocked. Of course, I liked her, but I didn't expect this. I was speechless. Just as I was about to open my mouth, I heard a loud yell coming towards us.
"BETHANY WE HAVE TO LEAVE RIGHT NOW" It was Sadie's voice. We both turn around to see Sadie running towards us.
"Sadie, what's going on?" Bethany asked, but was quickly stopped, as she was dragged by Sadie out of the room.
"Wait Bethany!" I try to get her back, but she's already at the door out of the restaurant. She looks back and gives me a saddened look. She pauses for a moment but is then taken away by Sadie.
I stop, trying to process what happened. I danced with Bethany, she told me she liked me, Sadie ran and took her away. What the heck happened with Sadie and Mark? Wait, where was Mark?!
"Mark? MARK" I yell. I walk to the restaurant part of the building and see Mark at a table, his elbows on the table, face in his hands.
"Mark, what the heck! What happened?! Bethany just told me she liked me and before I could say anything, she was swept away from me by Sadie!" I start to get angry, but then I hear a quiet mumble, muffled by a slight cry. Wait, Mark's crying. I calm down, sit next to him, and say, "Mark, pardon me? I can't hear you."
He puts his head up, and I see puffed up eyes and realizes he was balling. He takes a deep breath in, and says "I kissed Sadie. And she ran away."
"Mark, man. Sadie had a boyfriend back in Louisiana! What were you thinking?" I tried to be kind, but I knew that Sadie and her boyfriend were pretty serious.
He looked straight up at me and said, "You're not the only one who fell for a dance partner."

Sorry for the short chapter that took way too long to write. I've been quite overwhelmed with school but luckily I'm on break now! I haven't been feeling too great lately, another reason why I haven't been on here, but I'm trying my best. Thank you for all you readers! I started this story for fun and to get my mind of things, and I never thought I could get more than a few reads, but now I'm over 6k!
