Beginnings

The story opens during Umbra's prison break on Lua. tearing his way through hordes of guards until he reaches an archwing bay, He steals an Amesha Prime and flies into the unknown light of the void. A bolt of void energy strikes in front of him, forcing Umbra to fly off course through a portal. When the light fades umbra finds himself falling through the sky and crashing into the ground. The damaged archwing falls apart as umbra exits the crater, leaving it behind. Umbra continues walking, disappearing into the forest around him. He didn't know this place though it reminded him of how he remembered Earth.

The time period is at the start of the RWBY series. Events play out the same until the teams' initiation.

We open our next scene where they're all about to be launched into the forest.

Ozpin starts off by speaking. "Bewarned, there is something... off, about this forest today"

Jaune asked "What..... Do you mean sir?"

Ozpin: "There is something much more dangerous than mere Grimm in the forest, just be war

ned"

Jaune: "What could that-!?"

And off they go!

As our groups of students are about to land, each one finds their own way of landing safely.

Ruby heard a rustling in the bushes shortly after landing.

Ruby: "hm?"

Ruby sees our hero, Umbra, with his mask split open, absorbing wild berries off the bush. He seems to have his guard down, so Ruby attempts to inch closer, until she steps on a twig, snapping it beneath her feet. Alerting Umbra.

Incoherent screaming!

Umbra's scream froze Ruby in place as Umbra pinned Ruby to the nearby tree. Ruby's eyes flicker with light, as she sees a fragment of Umbra's memories. Seeing a bedridden soldier of some sort. Injected with some odd virus. A large gray man to his left and a young man to his right.

Gray man: "it would appear that the illness was taken your voice-"

Young man: "-Father, do you recognize me? It's me Iza-."

Gray man: "-which will make this reunion all the better when you watch him die."

Umbra's wrath was calmed briefly as Ruby left Umbra's memories.

Soon, Weiss arrives and attempts to fight Umbra.

Weiss: "Hey you! Get away from that thing!"

Weiss thrusts repeatedly at Umbra with her Myrternaster which did next to nothing. Umbra prepared to combat Weiss when an Ursa Major showed up and distracted him. Umbra began ripping the Grimm apart as Weiss speaks to Ruby.

Weiss: "Now's our chance to run, come on!"

Ruby was reluctant, but agreed, knowing that "thing" was incredibly dangerous

Ruby: "R-Right... lead the way"

Umbra finished off the Grimm and left the area. Ozpin had caught the whole thing on camera.

Ozpin: "Well, this will be interesting"

Meanwhile.

Weiss: "What even was that thing?"

Ruby: "I don't know!!!!"

The rest of the initiation period went the same, the pieces were grabbed and so on, And then the Grimm showed up, a Nevermore and a Deathstalker. The teams handled the Nevermore quickly, but the Deathstalker..... It got back up after falling. The students readied for another fight. When all of a sudden.

Incoherent screeching!

Everything froze. No one could move. All they saw after they opened their eyes. Was an odd sword in the head of the nevermore, while Umbra cracked the Deathstalker's faceplate open, revealing the gore within. Umbra's mask opened as he began ripping out the organs and such. Jeez....... That's a lot of gore....... I'm not even gonna describe it because Wattpad would take it down. (But I as in the editor sure as hell will make an uncensored version later)

Ruby attempts to approach umbra again, seeing if she can calm him again. Yang tries to pull her back

Yang: "Ruby stay back!"

Ruby: "Wait, Yang, I think it's just scared."

Ruby is only a few feet from umbra when a voice shouts breaking the silence.

Glynda: "Stand back!!!!!!!"

More incoherent screeching!!

Umbra fled the scene.

Glynda: "Good. It left, whatever it was......"

The rest of the initiation process went smoothly. Umbra was gone, at least for now.

Hey Everybody! I know the first chapter was short. but it actually took a lot of work to get this out, my will to write is slowly returning!
