Alright, so I've been walking around my room and thinking for some time. I don't know why but I am having this sudden urge to start noting down my days and nights; maybe 'cause I watched the movie, "Basketball Diaries" starring the heartthrob and sensation of the 90's, Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie was pretty awesome. I also researched on the original book the movie was based on. The movie was based on the book written by Jim Carroll. It is said that he, at the age of 13 was better than 89% of novelists of his time!

Digging all that stuff on the internet made me wanna do the same this character did in the movie; write stuff on a personal notebook or diary. I got lots of 'em in my cabinet but I don't touch them really. Now I have enough reason to.

So this marks the debut of my diary writing. I will spill down any crapola that creeps in my head when I am rolling the pin ball of my pen. It might be stupid or sometimes good. Depends. I also have one more aim: By the time I have finished filling in all the pages of this diary and start on a new one, I'm certain that there will be massive difference in my literary skills! Seriously, literature is my passion. I watch movies, read books, type stuff, talk to people, etc..

Have you ever eaten beaver's dung? I bet you did! It must've tasted great! One main ingredient of Vanilla flavouring and ice-cream is Castoreum and it is obtained from the anal secretions of a beaver. How about insect poop? Oh, Shellac is the substance that gives jelly beans, it's pristine shine. It comes from insect poop.

Glad to enlighten you! I like showing off my proficiency in general knowledge at times. Also, I might do it so that I have time to think on what to say next. Food agencies allow companies to put rat hairs in your peanut butter; about 12 hairs per 100 grams.

Did I introduce myself? No. And I'm not planning to either. You'll eventually find out as we travel down the track. If you are interested to know more about this great person, you will find out by yourself. All I'd say for now is my name's Callahan and I'm 16...

In my room right now. Sitting by my study table writing this... you can find across my shelf, books such as Hardy Boys, Brains Benton, Sherlock Holmes, Fantastic Four, Artemis Fowl, Three Investigators, Tom Sawyer, Dublin Murder Mystery, just to name a few. If you are a crabby old person, seeing my choices, you might be thinking I am just another dreamy teenager. Somebody once told me that I'm young and 'tis the time to dream. So I will stick to my taste for a while. If later on, I become like you, I'll abandon this and go after other stuff.

Did you know that Romans used Portuguese urine to brush their teeth? I know you do... you too got that from a famous movie.

So I'll be kicking off this diary writing tomorrow then. It's night time right now, almost midnight. Last thing: If you like me, raise your hat; if you don't like me, raise your standard.

Alrighto, time to switch the lights off and catch some Z's...

A coconut fell in my backyard, damn! The noise woke me up. I focused my eyes on my clock and found it was 5:34 in the morning. Lil' brother was sleeping in the opposite bed (we shared the room). I've always felt jealous of that little scallywag! How-on-earth does he sleep so peacefully? All he has to do is lay in bed and close his eyes. It works like switch on and switch off. I, on the other hand, have to rock and pitchpole on the bed for a long time before dozing off.

Quick fact: Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are drugs that are highly safe and they don't really put you to sleep. They are just used for fever. I last had them when I was two.

Whatever, I unbraced the yellow curtains and squinted outside. The new day is dawning... Sleep is ruined anyway, what shall I do?

I was shirtless. I decided to climb up to the top of the roof. It was a flat and spacious area where only one obstacle laid: The big blue water tank. Moreover, nobody really goes there. I think it's time for me to catch some air. Been indoors for long and I'm sick of it!

On the way, I caught sight of myself in the mirror. I just stopped by to flex my arms and core muscles. Just saying.

Took my T-shirt and little clock along. Oh, and not to forget, my diary and a pen. Gosh, it feels so good sitting here by the edge of the roof. The good breeze running through my face. I can smell the summer air. The air coming by tickling my hinges. How long has it been since I have felt this way? Reminds me of the good old imaginary days I never had.

Okay, I have reviewed my so-far writing. It's not bad. Looks kinda cool and groovy to me. I got confidence in myself. I can make it to the next level upon completely filling all the pages and starting fresh on a new pocket-notebook. That would be level 2. Repeat it again, that's level 3. Again, that's level 4. Repeat upto 'n' times.

Been here on the top of the house for quite a while. I've been staring at a rose for some time. A beautiful red Rose that was surrounded by a speck of sandy kinda soil. It inspired me to pen in a poem. I tried synthesizing it in my mind, playing with words, searching for rhymes, ... I could finally weave it together. Here it goes.

"A Rose For The Lonely Desert"

"Ye hath many days of sorrow pass by,
Beneath the desolate and empty blue sky,
Seasonal clouds sail by and solace your sands
On each successive day, your lament expands..."
