I awakened with my head throbbing and my mind surrounded by a grey haze. My vision was a blur of colours and I blinked slowly, until I could identify my surroundings. Looking around the dull room, I realised I was in a hospital. fatigue and confusion consumed me, how on earth did end up here.
A small whimper shook me out of my thoughts and my gaze moved to a small figure, huddled against the wall. I took in her fragile state; her little feet flat against the floor, her arms wrapped around her knees acting as a shield and her arms crossed almost as an act of rebellion. Even as a 13 year old, I still towered above her. She quickly popped her head up, before her chubby cheeks turned a bright red and she once again buried her face into her knees. I would give anything to see that beautiful face again.
The door sprung open, and surprisingly the girl jumped into my arms. A loud hoarse voice echoed throughout the room "Girly, you have to leave. I've told you too many times already, if you don't leave now i'm calling security" The girl whimpered loudly, before nuzzling her face into my chest. And it was hard to believe however, in that moment I knew I had found the love of my life; my mate.
