*Amani's POV*
A few days later
It's been a few days since I gave Dixon my number. Yes, we've been texting. But, we haven't been on a date.
Prom was right around the corner and I'm soo excited.
I need a dress.
I texted Kamiah asking her if she wanna go buy a dress with me.
She didn't text back right away. So, I went in the kitchen.
I wasn't that hungry. I opened the freezer and grabbed the frozen raspberries. I poured a little in a bowl.
As I was eating them, I got a text from Kamiah saying she couldn't come.
Well, looks like Imma be by myself.
I walked into my dad's office. "Dad, I'm going to the mall. Do you need anything?" I asked.
"No, thanks sweetie. Be safe." he replied kissing my cheek.
I got my jacket, phone, bag and keys then left.
I already knew what kind of dress I wanted. So, I'll be done in no time.
I went to Mango and found THE DRESS. It was a tight red dress that stopped mid thigh. It was long sleeved. I bought it and went to a shoe store.
I bought black heels and went to starbucks and as usual the line was long as hell.
"Hi, what would you like to order, beautiful ?" the cashier asked.
I chuckled, "Uhm, I'd like a grande mango passion fruit frappe please." He was so fine.
"Alright what's your name ?"
"Amani."
"Amani," he smiled while writing it on my cup. "That's a beautiful name." He said causing me to blush.
"That would be $4.45 and your number." he smiled.
I handed him the money and answered, "Let's make a deal. If you're here the next time I come I'll give you my number alright ?"
"Deal. See you around."
I took my drink and waved him goodbye.
My phone vibrated signaling that I got a text, from Dixon, asking if I wanted to hang out today. I replied 'Sure, what time and where ?'
'In 5 mins at the park.'
'Alright, I'll see you then'
'Aight, bye baby.😘'
The last part made me smile. He always does that.
I got in my car and was at the park on time.
