Chapter 8

Chapter eight

We pull in the driveway and Milly's eyes are huge and her jaw is slack. I chuckle and say "you're going to catch bugs if you don't shut you're mouth." She snapped out of her trance and got out of the car. Edward and Esme are already on the porch waiting for us. I catch up to Milly after grabbing both of our book bags and we walk through the door. Milly stops when she sees the living room everyone chuckles because I had the same reaction when I first came here. After she finished admiring the house we went to my room. We paint our nails and gossip just like all girls but when I changed into my pajamas I didn't know you could see my scar. So it came as a shock when I turned around and Milly gasped. She walked over and traced the top of the scar and asked me " what happened." I don't know why but I broke down and told her everything that happened she just held my hand and listened. When I finished telling her she just stared at me and said " I'm so sorry." We finally go to bed after watching a girly movie which I hated. We wake up and get ready for school I throw on a pair of dark skinny jeans with a white and black blouse with some flats. I go into my bathroom while Milly is changing and I brush my teeth and hair the I put on some mascara. I jump when Milly knocks on the door. She walks in a pretty pink dress with a pair of white sandals. Milly is very pretty she has blonde hair and blue eyes but she's not mean like all the other pretty girls Are. We're walking down the stairs when we bump into Edward. Milly starts to blush which makes me kind of jealous WAIT jealous why should I be jealous Edwards like a brother to me but he is hot. I clear my head and we finish descending the stairs only to be greeted by the rest of the family. Alice is starring at me with a knowing smile I wonder what that is about. Rosalie and Emmett introduce themselves first then Alice and Jasper. Carlisle had to go to work early and Milly already met Esme and Edward. Esme made us eggs and bacon we quickly ate then jumped in the car heading to the school. Milly talked the whole way to school but all I could think about is the trial in two days I'll have to face my monster of a father. We pull up to the school and I quickly hop out. I wait for Milly to get out then we walk to the classroom we decide to sit in the front today. It was funny to see everyone's faces when they walked in and saw Milly and I sitting in the front I have never sat here. Esme started the lesson and she called me up to the front because I was the only one to do the math homework. As I'm walking I hear someone say " aww look the freak has a friend." I quickly run out of the classroom and to the bathroom. I don't know why they all hate me I never did anything to them. They judge me but they don't even know me or can begin to imagine all that I've been through. I quickly decide to not be pushed around anymore I wipe my face off and walk right back into the classroom. Everyone stares at me when I walk over to the girl and say " yeah I finally have a friend and at least she is a real friend instead of all the girls you hang out with they all talk about you." She looks shocked and I chuckle and walk back to the board and complete the math problem Esme gave me. When I sit back in my seat Milly looks at me like I have grown another head while Esme just smiles. The bell rang and all the kids ran out except Milly and I we pack up and wait at the door for Esme. When she's done gathering her things Milly and I race to the car but we never make it Edward and Emmett grab us. We squeal and try to break free but they just tickle us. They carry us back to the car and buckle us in then Emmett hops in the drivers seat and Edward comes around and sits next to me. Esme gets in and we head to drop Milly off. When we get to Milly's I say goodbye and look at my old house. I see one of the faces I hoped I would never see again my dad's friend Roger whom used to come in my room sometimes with my dad. I start to panic and bury my face in Edwards shoulder he asks what's wrong but I won't tell him. I sob all the way home and when we pull up in the driveway I quickly hop out and run to my room. I just lay on my bed for an hour I can hear people trying to talk to me but I tune them out. I'm almost asleep when I hear my window open I look to see Edward creeping in I laugh which startles him. He comes over and sits next to me I lay my head in his lap. He strokes my hair and asks "what happened earlier?" I look up into his eyes and say "one of my dad's friends was at my old house he used to touch me sometimes." Edwards eyes go black I have noticed this happens a lot when he gets angry or when he goes camping with Carlisle, Jasper, and Emmett. He tells me it's gonna be okay and that I should sleep I ask him to stay and he lays down I rest my head on his chest and fall asleep to Edward humming a beautiful tune.
