(Snow)

My paws pounded against the snow, sending powers of the white coldness flying around me as I chased after a unassailable rabbit. The trees whipped past me as a low growl erupted from my mouth when the rabbit sped up, fear propelling it to move faster, but I was made for these mountains. My paws were made to skim above the snow which propelled me fast after which animal was unlucky enough to become my prey. Lashing my tail behind me I was getting bored with the chase I took one powerful leap with my hind legs and flew forward and made a quick kill by breaking the rabbits neck.

Taking a deep breath of the air another growl escaped my lips which were peeled back to show a snarl, 'Wolf,' I grumbled as I leaped into a tree and stashed my meal before setting out to chase away the wolf.
I followed its scent which led me to a cave, wrinkling my nose I realized that the cave was just outside my territory, proving I had no need to chase away the wolf. Turning I trotted away and back to where my meal was waiting for me, upon reaching the tree I was happy to see it was not tampered with by any of the scavengers who loved to steal my meals from me.

After my meal I quickly pushed the bones away and laid, relaxed, on a tree branch where I could watch my territory from a calming position. I flicked my tail as the sun set and leaped to another tree branch until I reached a large tree that had been here for centueraries. Moving to where I usually slept I curled into a tight ball until I was only a ball of fluffy black and white spotted fur. The next day I was awakened by a chirping of a snow leopard cub, poking my head out I noticed a fluffy ball of black and white fur.

I leaped down and looked down at the cub who chirped at me."Where's your Mom?" I meowed at the little cub who just looked at me with sad eyes.
"She said she would be back, but that was a while ago," the kit whimpered causing me to let out a sad sigh.
"Whats your name little one?" I asked softly.
"Ghost," she murmured looking up at me with wide silver eyes causing a my cold heart to melt a bit. "You can stay with me until she shows up Ghost, I'm Snow," I said which she nodded to and stepped beside me.
"What are we going to do first?" she asked with a wide grin.

"Patrolling," I said as I kept moving away from my large tree and out into the awakening forest.
Ghost was a lively but quiet cub which I was sure hence the name. She scampered after butterflies that dared to cross her path, suddenly the ground began shaking causing me to quickly look around us. All I spotted was a glimpse of brown before a herd of caribou came charging straight for us, I grabbed Ghost's scruff and took off as the deer chased us. I looked to the left and the right and saw that we were surrounded in the middle of the herd.

My breathing came out in pants as I ran faster than I had ever ran before, my legs pushing me faster and faster to keep up with the panicked caribou. Snow flew around me from the caribous hooves, looking around once more I spotted a low hanging branch where I could get Ghost on if I tried hard enough.
"I'll be back for you," I told her softly as we approached the branch and I tossed her up and couldn't look back to see if she even had grabbed the branch.
I was beginning to remember my surroundings as I knew there was a cliff face close to here.

Pushing myself faster I leaped on top of the lead deer as the cliff barrier came into view and leaped forward to where I was at the top while they had to make a sharp right turn. I let out a sigh of relief and dropped back to the ground before racing back to where I had left Ghost. She was on the branch looking around with fear etched onto her face until her eyes settled on me and she relaxed fully.
"Told ya I would come back," I said with a wide grin as she leaped down and landed on my back.

"Lets take a break and then finish the patrol," I said which she nodded to as I curled up in the hollow at the bottom of the tree and slipped into a light sleep.
When I woke up I noticed it wasn't too much later and Ghost was still fast asleep, nudging her awake I made my way to my eastern border where the wolfs cave was. By the time I had checked all of my borders it was already nightfall.
"Well that's enough excitement for today," I murmured to myself since Ghost was asleep on my back as I slowly made my way back to our cozy little home.

When I got there I noticed no new scents of another snow leopard passing through making me let out a sad sigh, 'Her Mothers probably not coming,' I thought before leaping up into the tree and setting her down in the hollow.
Turning I leaped up and began to climb up the tree, the bark was rough under my sensitive pads as my claws sank into it. The bark was a soft, deep brown and I knew that there were no termites in the tree or else it would not have stayed up for such a long time. My fluffy tail flicked back and forth as I leaped to the top branch where I rarely, but loved, to sleep.

The branch ended up splitting outwards but twined with the smaller branches to make a perfect nest where I usually slept. I traveled back down and grabbed Ghost and brought her back up to my little nook. Curling into a ball I looked up at the stars which were like white lights against the satin silk of the night sky before slipping into a peaceful slumber.
