I chuckled at the sight of SeokJin dancing his heart out to 'Baby One More Time' by Britney Spears. SeokJin had been my friend for as long as I could remember; I guess our friendship started when he moved in to the big house down the street. Among all of my friends, he was in fact the youngest one. And to be quite franc with you, the most irresponsible. But here we are now, at his girlfriend Amy's New Year's Eve party. SeokJin and Amy have been going out for about three weeks now, and they seemed to be getting pretty serious. She was a great girl, and took good care of SeokJin. I watched as he continued to dance happily before my eyes drifted towards Amy, who was welcoming more guests into her home.

"It's 11:54 everyone! Six more minutes until the year 2000, so make sure your last night of 1999 is memorable!" She yelled out, probably straining her voice for having to yell above the blaring music in order for everyone to hear her. Everyone cheered as loud as they could and in that moment I was sure that her neighbors would be filling a report against us. I continued to look around the room, deciding to get up just as SeokJin began yelling at a fellow guest for bumping into him. Apparently Seokjin was too good to be touched by others.

I grabbed my plastic, red cup filled with Vodkat and walked around the small house, trying my best not to be shoved by others. I took another sip of my drink while staring at a painting hung up on the wall. I couldn't tell what it was exactly, but I saw a monster. A giant figure hovering over a man, almost as if it were watching him. As if he was him. The shapes were painted in black, giving off a grim aura. I looked at it longer, trying to figure out its meaning, but the more I looked at it, the more I felt this horrible feeling in my gut.

I looked away from the monster who had captivated me in ways I couldn't understand, only to meet eyes with a woman. A beautiful women with wavy, short length hair, practically the color of coal, her big green eyes calling to me louder than any of the music or loud teens in this house. Our eyes had locked from across the room the second I turned around, and neither of us were able to look away. She stood there in this gorgeous coral colored sweater-like dress that truly did wonders to her figure. After seeing this woman all of my worries went away and all I could focus on...was her. I knew I would regret it later on if I hadn't asked for her number, so I brought up the courage to take those first few steps towards her. It was a struggle really, trying to make it towards her without getting pushed or spilling my drinks, but I guess me stumbling towards her made her smile. And oh god was that worth it. The corners of her lips curled upwards, causing her big eyes to crinkle. If me failing to walk properly meant seeing her smile like this, I would do it every day. Sure I stumbled a few times, and may have spilled a few drops of my drink on my T-shirt and another woman I was trying to go around...but it could've been worse?

"Are you alright?" She asked, still smiling, as I finally got to where she stood. I felt my stomach begin to twist into knots, not sure what to say. Had I really just made a fool out of myself in front of this beautiful lady? I looked into her eyes once more; those wide, green eyes causing me to beam so brightly that the sun might feel threatened. I nodded in response, still not sure how to speak to this woman? She giggled before asking, "What's your name?"

"A-Ah...I'm Kim Taehyung." I responded, feeling embarrassed. Did my voice sound off? Should I have sounded manlier? Do I look okay? Such questions were dangerous for my mind to ponder, for I never knew how much they would harm me. I ignored my unanswered questions and smiled at her. "And you are...?"

"TEN SECONDS LEFT EVERYONE! COUNT WITH ME NOW!" Amy yelled again.

Ten, nine, eight....

"Well..My name is Park Se-Yeon" She told me, placing a strand of hair behind her ear. It surprised me, that her name was just as beautiful as her. I scratched the back of my neck nervously, not knowing what I should say to her.

Five, four, three...

"Well Park Se-Yeon, it's a pleasure to meet you." I told her, still smiling from ear to ear. I held my hand out for her to shake, hoping to ask for her number if so. She smiled once more, causing my heart to skip a beat, before placing her hand in mine. It was warm, the feeling of her hand in mine felt so right I could barely contain my giddy mood.

Two, one, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

She gently shook my hand while looking straight into my eyes and said "Likewise Kim Taehyung." And just like that...I knew that this would be an amazing year.
