There was another execution today. This time, it was an assassin. Not the usual servant or thief. Taehyung heard about it from his friend, Jungkook.

"What was it this time?" Taehyung asked.

"Beheading," Jungkook responded. They were both silent for a long time. Their third friend Seokjin came back with more drinks, a large smile on his stubbled face.

"Why are you guys looking so sad?" he asked as he sat down.

Jungkook sighed. "That prince ordered another execution." Taehyung growled in annoyance.

"But Jungkook, that assassin deserved it this time!" he argued.

"What about all those other people that bastard executed!?"

"I am not having this debate again Jungkook!"

"EVERYONE CALM THE FUCK DOWN!" Seokjin shouted as he slammed his fist on the table. Everyone looked at him and Seokjin laughed nervously. He sat down and took a sip of his tea. His eyes averted back and forth between Jungkook and Taehyung.

"Soooo, how are you guys doing?" Seokjin asked awkwardly. Jungkook pouted and crossed his arms. Taehyung played with the earring on his ear. Seokjin lowered his head. Taehyung got up from where he was sitting and grabbed his bag. An alarmed look came onto Jungkook and Seokjin's faces.

"Wait—TAHYUNG!" Jungkook shouted. He got up and tried grabbing Taehyung's arm. "Why are you leaving?"

Taehyung glared at him.

"I need some time alone."

Jungkook frowned. "Is this about that prince?" Taehyung stopped dead in his tracks. He turned around back to his friend.

"Taehyung, you're the only person I know who actually risks protecting him... why?" Taehyung looked at the ground. He shuffled his feet and kicked a rock.

Jungkook stood there with crossed arms. Seokjin ran out. He saw what was happening. He knew the look on Taehyung's fave too well.

"This may sound stupid but—I see the good in everyone. And I feel like there's something inside of Prince Yoongi, he just hasn't met the right person yet." Jungkook groaned and hit his face with his hand.

"So that's it, that's your reason Taehyungie?" Jungkook said calmly. Taehyung nodded slowly. Jungkook didn't say anything. Seokjin shrugged and gave Taehyung a worried look.

"Taehyung, you can't just tame a dragon," Seokjin told him.

A confident look came onto Taehyung's face.

"Well, has anyone tried?" No response from Seokjin and Jungkook. "See guys, you don't know till you try." Taehyung turned back around and left his two friends, walking off into the night. Taehyung thought about what he said. Are they angry with him? Probably not, this wasn't the first time he's defended Prince Yoongi.

And with that mindset, Taehyung wasn't the most popular in their town. He knew about the whispers. Taehyung knows if you have a different mindset, there will be people who judge you. But with him always arguing in favor of Prince Yoongi, he barely had friends. Only Seokjin and Jungkook.

It got lonely when they had to go on fishing trips.

All Taehyung had during those days were his painting, and his sword practice.

Taehyung sighed and walked through the market. It was busy tonight. People bargaining and buying meat. He slung his bag over his shoulder and pouted. Taehyung pushed his black bangs aside and continued down the road. As he got further from the main town, there were less people.

Finally, some peace and quiet.

It didn't last long.

Taehyung heard a scream. He peeked around a corner to see some men cornering a man about his age. He seemed fragile, defiantly had the body of a dancer.

"So what's your answer palace boy? Are you giving us money are not?" The dancer tried biting one of the men.

"Fuck off you pieces of shit! Yoongi will hear about this!"

The men laughed in unison.

"Look at him! He claims to know that bastard prince," one of the men stated. Taehyung couldn't handle watching this anymore. He dropped his bag and clutched his fist.

"Leave him alone!" he shouted. The three men turned around. So did the dancer. He had silver hair and bright blue eyes. He was very pretty. The three men approached Taehyung.

"Looks like pretty boy is trying to be a hero," one said. In his hand was a sword. Perfect. Taehyung kicked sword man in a stomach. He grunted in pain and dropped the sword. Taehyung grabbed it and stabbed the man in the stomach. Blood dripped out, making the ground turn a bright red. Taehyung yanked it out and aimed the sword at the other two men. They swung at him but he dodged. Taehyung dug the sword in one of the men's legs and sliced across. The man hollered in pain.

Taehyung jumped back and grabbed the dancer and his bag.

"Quickly! Before that last one gets us!" Taehyung said as he dragged him away. The dancer didn't complain, he went along. The two of them ran and ran. Taehyung ditched the sword since it was dripping so much blood. It would've left a trail.

The two of them got to Taehyung's hanok. They breathed heavily. The dancer slumped down and let out a huge breath.

"Thank you so much!" the dancer smiled. Taehyung's eyes smiled at him.

"You're welcome." He held out a hand. "I'm Kim Taehyung by the way."

The dancer shook his.

"I'm Park Jimin. I'm a dancer at the palace." Taehyung's eyes lit up.

"So do you really now Prince Yoongi?"

Jimin nodded.

"Yep! We're actually childhood friends."

Taehyung pumped his fist in the air. "So you weren't lying!"

Worry and fear spread across Jimin's face.

"Please don't try to rob me." Taehyung laughed.

"Don't worry, I'm not interested in that. I'm just glad I was able to help you."

Taehyung fiddled with his earring.

"If you want, I can escort you to the palace tomorrow morning." Jimin's fear and worry turned into pure joy.

"You will!" he exclaimed. Taehyung nodded. Jimin jumped up and down with joy. "Great! I can tell Hobi and Yoongi how you saved me."

Taehyung laughed nervously.

"Yah, great."

What the hell have I gotten myself into.
