Chapter 20 - Later

Noah Clayton

Me and my parents walked into the ballroom of Eteon's company annivesary party. Eteon is a company made by the Gold Lifes along with some other people who remained anonymous. We got invited and so is Jaclyn and her family.

I was going to pick her up but she told me that her family wanted to go to together as a whole and she said we could meet at the venue anyway. I left my parents to find my girlfriend because she's making me a little nervous after having her scar on her leg got a little bit infected yesterday.

She's still the naughty Jaclyn. She's back working now and she's been busy but still causing trouble here and there sometimes. But most of the time, she's just amazing.

"Noah!" I turned to see my old friend, Tania, calling me. I was surprised to see her. I gave her a hug because it's been a long time since I've seen her.

"How are you?" I asked as I drew back from the hug. "I'm great, been busy but great. How about you?"

"You know doctors." I said.

"We should grab a coffee sometimes since it's been a long time since we catch up." She said and I gave her a nod. "I better go, I have to find my girlfriend." Her facial expression changed immediately and I knew that she's trying to hit on me. I excused myself and started to walk again to find Jaclyn.

I texted her earlier letting her know that I'm already at the venue but she still hasn't respond to it yet. I looked around this big ballroom for her and I saw her standing next to her brother. I walked to her and slipped my arm around her waist because she looked so stunning tonight in her ivory silk dress.

"Hey." I kissed her cheek and she turned to me giving me a cold glare. I was stunted to see her looking at me like that because I'm pretty sure we weren't fighting yesterday.

"What's wrong?" I asked and she ignored me. I turned to Jace and he shrugged. He left us alone and I stood in front of Jaclyn trying to get her attention.

"Jaclyn, what did I do?" I asked as I held her hands. She kept looking away from me. "Jaclyn.." I said and she turned to me pouting.

"You didn't even bother to find me first.. and hugging that woman!" She hissed and I raised my eyebrows amusingly. She's jealous? "I was looking for you and she called me when I'm trying to find you."

"You were giggling.." She said in a small tone and I chuckled. "She's my old friend, Jaclyn. There's nothing to be jealous about." I said as I leaned to her asking for a kiss. She only gave me her cheek and I chuckled. 

"So.. you're going to be pissed at me throughout the night?" I asked and she ignored me. "Very well then.." I said as I took a step away from her. She immediately linked her arm to mine.

"You're mean." She said and I turned to her again. I looked at her from head to toe and she really looked so beautiful tonight. She looked up to me and glared at me. "You're not going to tell me anything?" She asked and I pretended to be dumb.

"What?"

"You're the worst!" She hissed and I laughed as I hugged her. "Gosh.. you're adorable!"

"Is this how you get jealous?" I asked as I kissed the top of her head. "Why? I'm not allowed?" She's being sassy today and I love it! She's just adorable and it made me want to cuddle her all day long.

"She's pretty.. I wonder if she's your ex." She said in a bitchy tone and if someone else's listening to this, they might think that she's aggressive but since I'm the one who's listening to her.. she's just adorable.

"She's pretty that's true." I said playing along with her game and she smacked my chest quite hard. She glared at me and she took a glass of champagne from the waiter. "I'm going to flirt with all the man in this ballroom!" She said as she sipped her champagne. She walked away and I crossed my arms looking at her amused.

She kept glancing back at me and it made me laugh. She ended up stop halfway and glared at me. I walked to her and gave a peck on her lips. "You're crazily into me, you can't flirt with other man." I said confidently.

"I can."

"Go ahead, baby." I said letting her go and she smacked my arm really hard. "You're annoying tonight, Noah. I hate you!" She drank all the champagne in one shot.

"You look really beautiful tonight." I said and she rolled her eyes. "Too late.." She said in a bitchy tone. She gave her empty glass of champagne to the waiter and her eyes roamed around the ballroom. She squealed making me flinch and she walked away from me.

I followed her from the back and she greeted her friend. She hugged her friend tightly. It seemed like she's an old friend of Jaclyn. I stood beside Jaclyn and her friend turned to me and then turned back to Jaclyn.

"Chelsea, this is Noah.. my ex." I looked at her disbelief.

"I'm not your ex." I said and Chelsea chuckled. Jaclyn turned to me innocently and she pretended that she forgot. "Right.. you're my boyfriend.. I forgot.." She said sarcasticly and then she turned to Chelsea.

"That's mean, Jac."

"He's meaner than me." Jaclyn said and she took Chelsea's hand dragging her away from me. I looked at Jaclyn and decided to let her talk with her friend first then I'll deal with her later on.

I will make sure I'll take her home tonight. She's too adorable and too cute to handle. I'll deal with her later on.
